Three weeks. It has been three weeks since they started living with Jacob and his kids. Willow had been making sure both he and the others didn't try strangling each other.

At the moment Sawyer sat in the armchair holding Dawn. Dawn had once again kept him and Willow up all night. After about three hours of trying to get Dawn to go back to sleep, Sawyer told Willow to go back to sleep. She at first protested but after a half-hour more of Dawn being awake Willow gave in and went back to sleep.

Now Dawn laid in his arms fast asleep. It was about two in the morning. Sawyer was exhausted.

"You look exhausted," Jacob said.

Looking over at the man Sawyer watched him walk out of his room. Jacob walked over to the counter of his kitchen and pulled out two cups. He then proceeded to pull out a bottle of whiskey and poured it into the cups. Handing a cup out to Sawyer. As he took the cup he replied," I am."

Lifting the glass to his lips he took a sip of the drink. Lowering the cup and motioned for Jacob to take a seat on the stool. He watched as Jacob sat down. The two of them just sat there in silence sipping their drinks.

"Thanks," Sawyer said.

"For what?" Jacob asked.

"For not turning me in both times I've been here," Sawyer explained," even though it would probably have gotten you your job back."

"Believe me I did want to turn you in, but I saw how desperate Willow looked," Jacob said," and to be honest when I saw you with that blade in your chest I didnt think you'd live."

Sawyer knew what Jacob meant. His crew had been worried about his life when he showed up on the boat with that blade in his chest. He had received a nasty scar from it and the skin around the scar showed that the blade had burned him.

"I don't blame you for thinking that," Sawyer said," my crew was worried about me too, they hadn't really seen me return to the boat before looking like that."

"So mind if I ask you some questions?" Jacob asked.

"I guess," Sawyer said," just so you know I may not answer them."

He wasn't a big fan of answering questions. If people wanted to see him as some kind of monster or someone to be feared he wasn't going to stop them. But he figured he'd entertain Jacob if the questions were pointless. After all, Jacob has been letting them live in his house.

"How did you even meet Willow?" Jacob asked.

"She bumped into me here, and we did a little game of cat and mouse before I knocked her out and took her onto my boat," Sawyer answered.

"Okay, how did you two find out that she was supernatural?" Jacob asked.

Ooo, this one was going to be fun. With a small grin, Sawyer answered," she decided to go for a swim and forgot that she couldn't."

The look of confusion mixed with horror was plastered on Jacobs' face. He allowed the silence to last a few moments before he told Jacob how he really found out how Willow was a supernatural," well six months into her being pregnant my dear brother threw her into the ocean, after I threw some of the ocean at my brother and parents, I jumped off my boat and stood on the water looking at her. She had gills, webbed hands, and glowing spots on her face."

After he was done explaining his short version of the story he waited for Jacob's reaction. He watched as Jacob's face went from horror to confusion back to horror.

"What?" was all Jacob managed to say.

"Jacob, I don't like repeating myself," Sawyer said taking another sip of his drink," and do you not have anything better than whiskey?"

"No, I don't," Jacob said," and how can you stand on the ocean and do all...that?"

"I'm going to assume, by all that, you mean controlling the water," Sawyer said and watched as Jacob nodded," I'm a being that can control water."

"And can your daughter do that?" Jacob asked glancing at Dawn.

Sawyer looked down. Dawn was still asleep in his arm. "Not yet," Sawyer said," when she gets older she should be able to."

Jacob looked at him confused. Sawyer let out a sigh, he didn't want to tell Jacob any more information on supernaturals," look nothing against you, but I don't trust you enough to go into detail on how supernaturals work."

"That's quite alright," Jacob said," but you should get some more sleep."

Sawyer grunted, Jacob got to his feet and took the cups to the sink. As Sawyer got to his feet he heard Jacob say," and you make a good father, even if you are a pirate."

Sawyer chuckled at Jacob's remark. "Well, that is at least something I got going for me, and you don't make a bad father yourself even if your son is a dick."

As Sawyer made his way up the stairs he saw Willow standing at the top smiling down at him.

"What?" He asked.

"Sounds like you made a friend," Willow whispered. She took his hand and lead him back into the bedroom.

"I don't make friends," he said. He heard Willow humm as she leads him back into the room. After placing Dawn back in her crib Sawyer climbed into the bed followed by Willow. As they laid there Sawyer closed his eyes and pulled Willow close to him and soon drifted off to sleep.
