The room was quiet. Even though the sun was high in the sky the people in the room slept. A crib stood beside the bed. The people in the bed slept unaware of the person entering the room. Leaning over the crib the intruder saw a baby with black hair. Carefully the intruder picked up the baby. Making sure not to wake a soul they begin to make their way to the door.
"Hey cap, are you two going to sleep all day?" A female voice spoke on the other side of the door.
The intruder stopped. Glancing over at the bed they saw someone stir. Quickly thinking the intruder commanded the shadows. As the man rose from the bed the shadows danced across the intrudes skin. When the man registered what was going on it was too late. The intruder had just gotten away with the baby.
Walking out of the shadows the person looks around. Trees surrounded them. The smell of pine, oak, and wildflowers filled the air. The person started walking. Soon the trees thinned out. And the person walked out of the forest and into a small town. This town was far from any ocean, and far from the kingdom that the baby was taken. People that stood outside of shops our their homes look at the intruder. They all knew the intruder well. After all, the intruder's family had lived on the outskirts of the town for a long time. Many believed the family to be witches.
The intruder ignored all the staring eyes and continued to walk. They were determined to make it home. After all, no one would question the intruder why they had a baby. Everyone knew that they had been trying to have a child and failed many times.
Opening a door that leads inside the intruder's home they called out," hun are you home?"
The sound of feet walking could be heard. A tall man stood in front of the intruder. He had black hair and green eyes.
"Is everything alright, sweetheart?" The man asked.
"Look what I found in the forest," they said," I couldn't find the poor things parents."
The man looked down at the baby in the intruder's arms. He was surprised to hear that someone would abandon such a perfect little bundle.
"What's her name?" The man asked.
"The tag has her name stitched into it," the intruder said," it's Dawn, we can finally be parents."
The man looked from the baby to the intruder then back. He was at a loss for words. He had always wanted to be a father, but they tried so many times and kept losing the babies before they were fully developed or were stillborn. This time they could be parents.
"Her name will be Dawn Elaine Shadow," the man said as he took the child from the intruder," our little angel."
