It was no use. In my bed, I rolled from one side to the other, hoping for sleep which didn't come. Right now I lied on my back, staring up into the pitch black. A dull pain started to throb in my temples. The rest of the Avengers was sleeping. Of course they were, it was almost two after midnight.
I sighed and sat up. Maybe he would ...
I got on my feet without switching the night light on and found my way to the door. I opened it and padded through the dark hallway until I was in front of the right door.
I hesitated, but then I knocked. No answer. I knocked again.
A muffled, very sleepy voice said: "Come in ..."
I opened the door and peeked into the room. Loki lay in his bed, his hair the messiest I had ever seen, and propped up his head with his hand while blinking. Unlike in my room, his curtains were wide open and the moonlight flooded the room with a silver shine.
"I couldn't sleep", I whispered. "Can I ... ?"
He nodded and smiled a little. He patted on the mattress, lifted the covers and slid over to make room for me.
I smiled thankfully and closed the door behind me, tiptoed up to his bed and glided under the covers. Despite my tiredness, I was a bit nervous. I never made a move like that. Sure, me and Loki got along great, but I wasn't sure if he would like me like me.
"So what's bothering you?", he asked, his voice rough. He went with his hand through his hair to smooth it.
"I can't sleep", I said again, "I can't stop to think and now I am getting a headache."
"Oh", Loki answered. "May I?" When I nodded, he put his hand on my forehead.
"Ahhh...", I sighed while I felt how the heat left my head and a soothing cold spreaded over my skin. The pain went away.
Now as he already touched me, I became a little braver and slided a bit in his direction. Loki smirked and stretched his arm out to caress my arm with his fingertips. They went over my skin almost as they weren't touching it, creating goosebumps that ran down my spine. I shivered.
"Shivering? You must be cold", he said, still with that smirk I could see very clearly in the moonlight.
I nodded. "Terribly cold", I said with a touch of amusement.
"Come here", he replied and pulled me into his arms.
I couldn't help but smile and his chuckle sent another wave of goosebumps down my back. He did the thing with his fingertips again and I relaxed in a way I didn't know was possible.
I felt his fingers slip under my pyjama to wander over my back. Soon I was wax in his hands. I snuggled up to his chest and wrapped my arms around him while he pulled me closer. I returned the gesture with the fingertips and watched satisfied how his arm hair rose.
"I think I don't want to sleep anymore", I mumbled and let my hand slip under the top half of his pyjama.
He snickered. "But you should. You haven't slept the whole night. Or was that just a lie to get into my bed?"
Now I chuckled. "Actually not. But shouldn't you be the one to know?"
He planted a kiss on top of my head. "Sleep", he whispered in such a soothing tone that I drifted off into the realm of dreams._
I hope you liked that one, I am pretty tired right now. But yeah, sleep well guys!
