Back For Her

Chapter 22

Lucifer's POV-

"Bro!" 

"Hm?"

"Bro, wake up!"

I groaned and my eyes fluttered open. I slept in my office, too consumed with thoughts of Ryl. I saw Ford and Andrew standing in front of me like idiots.

"What?" I asked, irritated. 

"There's a boxing tournament taking place at midnight! I wanna watch it!" Andrew said excitedly. 

"So go," I said simply, closing my eyes to sleep. 

"Not alone!" He whined. 

"Take Ford with you," I suggested, not opening my eyes. 

"Lucifer! I know how much you love these events! Let's go, please," Andrew requested. 

I sighed and nodded. 

Maybe it could take my mind of Rylee for a while. I remember going to these events with Rylee during college. We used to sneak out of our house and hang out. These memories brought a smile to my face.

Maybe I shouldn't have told her the truth. That way, maybe she would have accepted me.

"Lucifer!" Andrew yelled.

"What?"

"Are you fine? You zoned out for a bit."

"Yeah, yeah. I am fine. There's an hour left till midnight. I'm gonna take a quick shower and come," I said.

They nodded and walked out. I strolled to my bedroom and stood under the scorching hot shower. The hot droplets hit my back with extreme force and burning it. But it didn't affect me. I walked out, wrapping the towel around my waist. 

I checked myself in the mirror. My eyes drifted to the tattoo I got 2 years back. 

'R' was tattooed on my chest, near my heart and a red heart outlined it. I got this the day we broke up. I wanted to surprise her with it but she left. My fingers grazed over the tattoo slowly. 

My mind strayed back to that day...

I sighed and plopped on my bed. Today's day was truly exhausting. I had to go through several files and take over 2 casinos. But one good thing was the tattoo I got. 

I grinned thinking about her reaction. My doorbell rang making a smile creep up my face. 

Rylee. I ran to the door and opened it to see my love standing there with a soft smile. 

"Hey babe," I greeted, kissing her lips gently. 

"Hey Luc," She replied, walking in and sitting down on the couch. She sighed and leaned back on the seat. 

"What's wrong?" I asked in concern. 

I sat beside her and she placed her head on my shoulder.

"Nothing, just tired. I filed a missing report for my parents but there's still no luck," She said with quivering lips. 

I felt terrible for her. Her parents had gone missing few days back without any note or anything. Ryl had been going to the police station every single day like crazy but the officers don't do shit. I decided to step in. I asked my men to find her parents. 

"So, how was your day?" She asked, changing the topic. 

"Normal," I shrugged. 

"Hm. What'd you do?" She continued, leaning on my shoulder.
