Back For Her

Chapter 20

Rylee's POV-

"Ford."

There he was, in flesh and bone, standing in front of me. 

"Shit," I cursed and tried walking away, but he pulled me back. 

"Rylee, I won't take you back to him," He said, giving me a reassuring smile. 

"How do I know that you won't? You work for him, he is your Don," I argued, trying to get off his grip. 

I shoved him back and walked away from him. 

He sighed. "Rylee, I knew you were staying with that guy, Christopher Williams."

I froze on spot and slowly turned back to face him. 

He took a few steps towards me. "I knew you stayed with him, but I didn't inform Lucifer. He doesn't know where you are, I didn't tell him." 

"Why?" 

"I don't want you to get hurt, that's it. You're like my sister."

I pursed my lips. "Thank you, thank you so much Ford," I hugged him tightly. 

He patted my back in an assuring way. 

Suddenly, we heard someone clear their throat. 

I instantly pulled back and saw Alex glaring daggers at me. 

Oops, forgot she was still present. 

"Hi, I am Alexia, and you are...," She extended her hand for a handshake. 

Ford hesitantly accepted it. "I'm Ford."

"Okay, Ford. I'm staying with Alex, who is my cousin. Please try and keep Lucifer away from us," I requested. 

He nodded and hugged me one last time before walking away.

"Girl, who was that hot man?" She squealed. 

I chuckled. "He works for Lucifer. He helped me by not informing Lucifer about my whereabouts. We can trust him."

She nodded slowly, processing everything. 

"Alright then!" She suddenly exclaimed, "Let's go back home."

 We dragged our heavy shopping backs all the way home as we had to travel by foot. Though her house was only ten minutes away, it felt like 2 exhausting hours carrying those bags. We dropped down on the sofa, too tired to walk anymore.

"We need to make dinner," Alex reminded. 

I groaned. 

"Take-out?" She suggested. 

I  nodded. 

"Alright. I am ordering tacos and coke. Will that do?" She asked, typing away on her phone. 

"Yep," I replied. 

After half an hour, the food arrive and we gobbled up  the food due to our extreme hunger. 

"Wanna watch a movie?" I suggested suddenly. 

"It's midnight," She stated. 

"So? We used to be awake the entire night when we were teenagers, remember?" I asked with a giggle. 

She chuckled, "Of course I do! Remember, we were watching that 18+ movie when we were 16 and the girl moaned out 'DADDY!' and your dad came rushing into the room!" 

She burst into fits of laughter and I joined along.

"Oh, I remember that. Oooh, and that time when we snuck out of the house at midnight to go to the beach! We rode our bikes all the way for 11 kilometers!"
