Epilogue

If you asked me whether I'd like to go back in time and change the past, or stay where I am and work for a better future...my answer would be the second one.

Sure, you can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

That's exactly what I did.

After Lucifer woke up from coma, he let me go. Like he promised.

I chose to stay. Willingly.

I chose to stay and wanted to see how much he would change, or rather...if he would change at all.

Oh, and he changed.

Drastically.

He became the same sweet and thoughtful guy I had met back in college.

In fact, every week we would go to the cafe we had our first date in, just to relive those romantic moments we had back in college.

Sometimes, if I was out for a business trip, he'd surprise me by decorating the entire house romantically when I came back.

My love had rekindled.

My life was good.

I pushed open the door with a tired sigh. Swinging my coat on the hanger, I walked into the house. The lights were off, which was a little suspicious. Lucifer didn't sleep so early.

"Congratulations!"

I shrieked and almost fell onto the floor.

The lights suddenly flickered on.

In front of me stood Lucifer, holding a cake in his hands.

"Congratulations, my love. I heard you won the deal," he said, softly kissing my lips.

He placed the cake on the kitchen counter and handed me a knife with cute bow on it.

"I'm so proud of you," he whispered, kissing my cheek.

I smiled.

I cut a slice of the cake and fed him first. He then took the slice from my hands and fed it to me.

"Thank you," I squealed, hugging him tightly.

"Anything for you, Ryl," Lucifer replied, kissing my knuckles.

My phone began to ring and I answered it.

"Yeah? No, no, mail it to me, right now! Yes, and postpone the meeting to tomorrow instead. Yes," I snapped and hung up.

Lucifer smiled and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Why are you stressing about this?" He whispered, kissing my cheek.

"I have 4 meetings back-to-back tomorrow. It's gonna be one exhausting day," I whined.

"I'm so proud of you, you know that?" He asked, brushing a strand of hair from my face.

"You are such an amazing businesswoman, and an even greater person," He whispered in adoration.

I smiled and gave him a quick peck.

"Speaking of great people, where's Xena?" Luc asked, scanning the room.

I shrugged, despite knowing where she was. I saw her feet sticking out from behind the shelf.

"Xena!" Lucifer's voice boomed across the room.

A soft giggle was heard from behind the shelf. Lucifer grinned and walked towards it, tip-toeing. He creeped behind the shelf and smiled.
