~8 months later~

"We reached, Donna," Jefferey announced.

I nodded and thanked him. I was about to open the door when he spoke.

"I am extremely sorry for what happened. I know how it feels. I know how you feel. Trust me. My wife...," He trailed off, gazing at his wife's picture in his wallet.

I saw a tear roll down his cheek. I held in a sob and hugged him.

"Thank you so much, Jeff. You were very supportive during this time. Even words aren't enough to thank you."

He patted my back reassuringly.

"Things get fine eventually. Always have hope," He said with a cheerful smile and then drove off.

'How?' I was so tempted to ask.

I walked inside the building. The staff nodded and smiled in respected to which I smiled back.

"Hello ma'am," I heard Annie greet.

"Hi Annie," I greeted back.

She sighed.

"I know, it must have been extremely tough for you, managing everything alone," She said with a sad smile.

"It was tough, I admit, but I had my pillars of strength. Alexia, Andrew, Ford, Sky, and you," I said softly.

I waved at her and walked through the corridor.

It was hard. It was hard not to just break down when people constantly keep telling the same things; 'It must be so hard', 'I can understand your pain', 'It's okay to let it all out'.

It pains. It pierces to my heart to keep hearing these over and over again.

My life had been hell.

My life was hell.

For the past 8 months, I felt like I had lost a piece of myself.

I wanted to just go back to the good, old times when we were in college.

"Will you go out on a date with me?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck.

Oh.

My.

God.

"Yes!" I squealed, clapping my hands excitedly.

His eyes lit up and he revealed a bouquet of roses from behind his back.

"These are for you," He said softly, handing them to me.

I took it with an eager smile and inhaled the fresh, sweet fragrance of the roses .

"At the same café, tomorrow 5 p.m.?" He asked eagerly.

I nodded in excitement but then my face dropped. My parents wouldn't allow.

He noticed my sullen face and frowned.

"What's wrong?" He asked softly.
