Rylee's POV-

I took deep breaths to calm my nerves. The fight was in an hour and I was extremely nervous, yet excited at the same time. I paced around the room, biting my nails.

"Ryl, calm down. You will win, and even if you don't, it doesn't matter. Winning-loosing, it's all part of the game," Alex tried to simmer me down.

I sighed but nodded.

"Okay, now take a shower to calm down," She instructed, walking out of the room.

I obliged and sauntered to the bathroom. I turned the water to extreme hot to soothe me, and it worked. It works every single time. I washed my face with facewash and dried my hair. Finally, I wrapped the towel around me.

"Your clothes are on the bed!" I heard Alex yell from the hall. Surely enough, my outfit was laid out on the bed. And boy...were they some badass clothes.

I wore a black sports bra and grey ripped jeans. I tied my hair into a messy bun. I wore my black boots and the stunning sapphire pendant my parents gifted to me on my fifteenth birthday. I always wore it in all my fights for good luck.

"Ready?" She asked, coming inside the room.

"Yep," I replied, eyeing myself in the mirror.

"You look like a complete bad-ass," She remarked.

"Thanks. You do too."

She looked stunning wearing a black crop top hoodie along with black ripped jeans.

"Come on, let's go. It starts in half an hour," Alex announced, dragging me to her bike.

"Damn, girl! I love your bike!" I commented, gazing at her dirt bike in awe.

She smiled. "Thanks, now ride it."

"Wait. I'll ride the bike?" I asked, pointing to myself.

She nodded. "We both know who the best rider is among us," She said with a sigh.

I nodded and sat on the bike, Alex sitting behind me. I started the bike and drove at full speed.

"Let's go, baby!" She yelled, throwing her hands up in the air, her hair flying around. I chuckled at her carefree behavior.

I rode to the location of the fight and parked it at the VIP parking, because I was taking part in the tournament.

"Come on, I want you to meet Mason," She said hurriedly.

Who's Mason?

She dragged me into the office and knocked on someone's door.

"Come in!" A smooth, masculine voice yelled.

Alex pushed open the door and strode in.

A young man, probably in his mid twenties, sat behind the desk typing something on his laptop. He saw Alex and his face lit up.

"Alexia, hello there," He greeted and stood up to hug her.

"Hey Mason. This is my cousin, Rylee. The one I told you about yesterday. You remember?" Alex asked.

Mason nodded and then turned to me.

"Alex told me that you won every fight you took part in. I hope you win this one too," He said, giving me a thumbs up.

I smiled.

"So, what name should I register you for?" He asked.

I bit my lip, thinking about it. "Black rose."

Alex gave me a knowing smile.

"Beautiful name. Why Black rose, though?" Mason asked curiously.

"My mom used to call me that because black roses were unique and symbolize courage," I answered, trying not to break down.

"Well, it's a beautiful name, for a beautiful girl," He commented, smiling.

The cliché line almost all men use.

I chuckled. "Thanks."

He checked his watch and panicked.

"Shit! It starts in five minutes! Rylee, when you go out of this office, turn right. You'll see a narrow corridor which will lead you to the fighting ring. Alexia and I will be in the audience. Good Luck!"

"Thanks, Mason," I said gratefully.

"All the best!" Alexia wished, patting my back.

I was about to walk away when she stopped me.

"Wear this," She instructed, handing me a black mask with a beautiful rose printed on it.

"Why?" I asked confusedly.

"If Luc-you know who is here, he might see you. Wear this," She explained.

I nodded and then walked out.

What did Mason say? Turn right, and then go through the narrow corridor. Okay...

Surely enough, the corridor lead to the waiting area for all the participants.

Most of them were men. Actually, there were only 2 women, including myself.

One man saw me and gave me a disgusted face.

"Ugh, I didn't know we accept women now," He said.

"I know, man. What happened to today's generation?" Another said, shaking his head disappointedly.

Bastards.

I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned back and saw a cute girl. She had silky red hair which reached up to her shoulders.

"Hey! I am Tasha. Don't mind them. They are just annoying," She said, rolling her eyes.

I smiled, although she could not see it under my mask.

"So, is this your first time taking part in this fight?" She asked.

I shook my head as no. "I participated in several fights before this."

"Cool. What name did you register under?" She questioned.

"Black Rose."

"Unique name," She commented, "Nice."

I muttered a 'thanks.'

"Tasha!" I heard someone call out.

"Oh, just give me a sec," Tasha said and walked away.

"God, I hate women! They're so weak," The guys started bitching again. The other men nodded in agreement.

Tasha was right. They were just jealous and scared.

Scared of a woman overpowering them so their so called fake masculinity will be diminished.

I smirked thinking of their dumb-stricken faces when I defeat them.

Proving your haters wrong is the best feeling in the whole world.

Guys! Please vote and comment! I know, it's a shorter chapter. Pardon me, please. 😔
