Maya's pov

I slowly began to crinkle into a ball, resting on the closest couch in disbelief.

He knows.

My Fiance's eyes pressed harder over me with a look that says nothing and everythingat the same time. Lips creased from biting. Brows knotted with tightknitted shapes.

He knows.

Body stationed flat straight, unmoved, unchanging.

His nails scrape against his palms as if dried glue was peeling of the surfaces.Searching for a answer? An explanation? I'm left with endless clues.

Broken clues. Ayato's face began to crumple into a lackluster of judgement and concern, eyes running away and back. His mouth kept opening and closing like apet goldfish that just discovered it's life was a lie. I wouldn't besurprised if gunpowder exploded from his mouth.

"hUh." Open fire.

"....huh." he repeats quietly to himself.

Oh god please help me,it's worse than I expected. Ayato blinks and stares some more, shaking his head at me.

"SAY SOMETHING!!!"I hissed wobbly.

"I can't take your silence anymore!"

Ayato looks at me unfazed, then swiftly turns to look at my desk. "I really don't knowwhat to say except...everything.....makes sense..?" That came out morelike a question than a conclusion.

Donna pressed her head harder into the mattress, sleeping the night idly away. I'm tooconfused, I need her so badly, awake.

"Things you leave behind in life, rarely come back the same."

He slowly grazed his fingers over the glass encasing one feeble sakura root. My heart began to jump hoops as on closer sight he turned the sakura around different angles, inspecting the weakened bud, spinning it loosely with his fingertips.

"This flower." he announced. "I didn't buy you this." He turned to look at me.

"I'm one of the things that have been left behind, aren't I?"

"p..please put that down." I answered weakly.

"Why should I?" He inspects the sakura further. "I didn't know you had received gifts from other boys." I slowly rose from the couch. "Giving each other flowers was our tradition." He motionedto the one rose coloured plant carelessly being spun around."

"Ayato...stop." I swim around my usual profanity to find the right words. I can barely breathe.

"Just, put the flower down-"

"And not only do weno longer speak, but hey! My fiancée has a double agent career playing in plus Tokyo! One of the most dangerous places for a girl tobe, underage nonetheless."

His voice began to rise painfully. "Oh and I also saved your sister here from being molested by several guys because...as it seems, she's in this littlecircus you have going on too!

So tell me Maya, what other circles dou frequent in?! Wrestling?! Bar fighting? affairs on the ru-OW"

"hUh?" Donna stoodup from her napping bedding, eyes rolled halfway under her skull.

"Nothing...go back tosleep sis." "MmMkAy." Her small head slammed back into the covers.

"Would you shut up"I hissed squeezing his cheek hard as he yelped out in surprise.

"That actually hurt girl damn."

"Donna's sleeping, atleast insult me quietly." I quickly snatched the flower from him.

"I'll take this."

Ayato frowned. "I wasn't going to drop it."

"I couldn't trust you with a piece of lint, you're like a bull in a china shop!"

He snorted in response."I'm not that bad."

"Don't lie to me Yato."

"But lie to me huh?"

"Shush." I grinned.

He sighed at me. "Your so big now, seems like only yesterday when I knew all your secrets." He gestures to mycerise ensemble comically. "And not only the ones under your clothes.

A smile creeps in.

I blinked at him. "Your one year older than me, why...why do you act like a middle aged pedophile." Ayato's face creased over with an even larger grin. "I'm sorry, i'm sorry! I was out of line,1... I just can't believe it! Your a....a...."

I wait for him to elaborate returning the confused eyes.  He stares into my facel ike there is a piece missing. "I'm so sorry...what exactly are you?"

I gave a small smile."Well, it's about time you were told the truth... i'm not exactlywho you think I am." "Cue the generic plottwist." He lightly chuckles following my eyes as I walk closer tohim.

My fingertips kiss mypiano keys. "Do...you remember how i always wanted to play."

"The guitar, the piano ...the drums? Who wouldn't M!" He exclaimed, hands thrown in the air.

"What of it?" My mind drew a blank. "Is it not self explanatory at this point?"

Ayato breathed in heavily, hands digging into his pockets

"It is, but i'd rather hear your words confirm my thoughts, it's rather soothing, plus my mind won't start playing tricks on itself, so please." He bent over the sideof the piano body tense and serious in manner.

"Confirm."

His face is barely an inch away from mine, closer...closer....closer

The front gates suddenly clink open outside, the sounds chiming over our heads.

"GIRLS!"

Blood drains from our faces. "DAD"

Ayato exchanges a look of horror. "Maya....MAYA CALM DOWN"

I was already ready to cry. "I can't have boys in my room Ayato you know that!!!"

He held me tightly around my shoulders. "Maya listen to me!!! It's ok, because  in case you don't remember...we are not in your room." He winked at me generously.

I blinked back. "H u h?"

"We're in the secret music room!" he announced proudly, smiling with self assurance.

This. Idiot....

"OH RIGHT, THE MUSIC ROOM, THANKS AYATO THAT REALLY HELPS, DAD IS GOING TO KILL ME!" i scream.

I could already hear the footsteps. Ayato hurls me over his shoulder throws me onto the bed and shuts the mirror door.

"Maya, sweetheart....MAYA?"
