One thing everyone knew about Maya's dad was that he embodied the qualities of a sociopath. At least on a external level

One word to describe Mr Kirencho? Unpredictable.

There's no going round it.Keeping up appearances breeds respect. There was no room for personal feelings, sore gravelwords rolled off the tongue like they were dished out and writtendown on a to do list hours before with a list of targets.

Business offers and connections were thrown out as soon as they were reeled in.Promises were used and abused, over and done with. "Materialistic and meticulous." He once chanted, after granting guests permission at a party to gnaw the surface oftheir plates after one long prayer.

"That's how you should already be in." A black paranoid eye slid backwards to see my hands had reached the offending slice of cake. "That's all your having?"

I remained stone still but was so relieved to see Maya float into the room, dress coated a cerise colour. She was smiling from ear to ear.

"Ayato."

My eyes snapped back to the living reincarnation of Zeus suited in a black and white notch lapel.

"Yes, thank you." But the cake tasted like butter slabbed over cardboard. It was hard to swallow.

The worlds of glittering silver and shining souleating contracts. Kai's universe.

His late history of paramours was most undoubtedly comparable to any greek deity that had ever lived and also another reason for Maya to hate him. Any child would regard him as dangerous with a face as long as the Atlantic with the stature of a chunk of ice.

Nothing has become better.

The familiar frosted tone swam through the house likeice cold water. Thunder steps caused the sky and ground to cower. Hewas inside the house. He wasn't just in the house, he was possiblylevitating up the creaky stairs as well!

The Door burst open.

Kai's shadow was circled by maids and servants glued behind him, in a formation that made it look like he had a very long tail. Their skin was flushed all over and eyes running round, trying to make sense of him. Or as mother would say. "His instincts and inclinations never understood."

Eyebrows were raised at the suggestive position Maya and i were in.

"WH-"

"Now before you say anything." I start leaving a disheveled Maya with her head in her hands. "I came over, this wasn't your daughter's doing."

"Doing?" Kai stuttered

"Yato-" Maya crumbled away at her speech.

"But Maya and I were childhood friends, For heavens sake i'm supposed to marry her! Surely you can cut her some slack-|"

"Ayato." his voiced dripped off sarcasm. "Shut up."

I shrunk back onto the couch "Cool."

His eyes flashed a bright earl grey his armor yet another suit that made him appear taller. Higher. Greater. Worse.

Kai scanned the room with the sight of a hawk. He blinked, then flashed a confused look.

"Where's your sister?"
