Lev's pov

My tongue swallowed it's own saliva, salt tasting like a open cut's blood.

Unresolved wounds, and  the brooding guilt of moral transgression still cuts as deep as your own breeding doubt.

What if Sato figures out the plan.

what if she already knows?!

She could be watching us right now-

It had been 5 hours since the laboring school class coiled back it's silver gates, and It still feels like i'm entangled into a web of embezzlement.

In just afew hours, our principle is going to find our teacher's Id replaced in the exact area he keeps his charity funds he siphoned off from the board's parent donations. all hidden in one little box.

I stared at the red chest. Now what should i do with it?

I called Maya.

"Hey! It's ya girl's voice but not your girl! sorry, she's probably busy right now, leave a message or else don't cal-

i ended the call.

I feel so alone

I'm stuck in sato's self appointed world , her long stick insect nails crawling over my arms, rejoicing glued submission, sadistic measures to groom my hair into place. my arms into position, while her own face gradually sinks into her own  hollow skull like a punctured ball.

"You wouldn't want me to tell Maya would you Of our little secret?" the predatory whispers lashed over.

The ceiling and floors seemed to intersect into one monolithic world. My room gently boiled over from cream yellow to cerise red, stretching across arched shadows looming behind, rising taller until all colour had brewed to a chocolate dusk.

I've never felt so alone.

"We don't even have a secret."

"Yes we do! and it won't be much of secret anymore if u just admit we do."

"LEV!"

Two snapping fingers clicked right above my nose.

"What the-"

"Damn Lev, your brain works even slower than my save file."

I looked up to meet a small round face and large clump of brown hair trailing down my floor.

"JONAH?!"

My stiff faced cousin threw me a wink.

"Hey kiddo!"

So my uncle came over, Something must be going on...

"How did you even get in my room?!"

"I have my ways." Jonah , crosslegged and possibly crosseyed, studied my treasury of items. The chest, the phone...my books.

"What are you doing?"  she slowly asked. "There's some suspicious activity bursting from the sight of this stuff."

"What?"

"Lev, i know a revenge plot when i see one."

Jonah's eyes sparkled with mischief . "Tell me everything."

Maya's pov

The stage.the lights. The wavering crowd.

After the harsh words i had chanted, everything suddenly came to fruition.

Kiara was spellbound by the grandeur of the propelled heads spinning at every distraction. the blood curdling shouts and everything in between.  Oh no.

At that very moment, years had seemed to thaw off of kiara. She was tense, enstrangled by spiderweb chords and bullet proof microphones, there was nothing that could excuse her pause,  awaiting for her to sing, the crowd hushed in expectancy. the lights flooded her, making it look like she was drowning.

Her hands flickered over her guitar, a single note flying off the strings.

silence.

"Should ...we do something?" A  man mouthed at me, hands and fingers glued to his bass and sticks.

Well he's definetley not gonna get up any time soon.  His goatee even seemed to curl back from the utter second hand embarrassment of kiki.

"The hell was that?"  a young girl chortled in the crowd, face aged 10 years from the apathy of red wine and cigarettes.

Kiki's mouth dropped open. Her face was dipped in purple moonlight, the rest of her frame stood like a blank canvas, awaiting to find her moment. To paint the room in colour.

But she never found it.

"BOOOOOO!" The shrill red flags of doom pounded the stage, the sound every artist fears.

Hatred.

"GET OFF THE STAGE!!"

Resentment.

"WE DON'T WANT YOU."

Disgust.

"Why did  even u come on here?"

Mockery.

"Aww she's gonna cry!"

Jealousy.

"IF YOUR SO TALENTED START SINGING!"

"Just because you're untalented, doesn't mean she has to feel your sorrow."

the room became tense.

oops.

And somehow i had teleported to the stage instead of staying quietly behind the curtains.

"Hey! Sorry i'm late kiki." i ran over pretending to be out of breath. I slumped over the solid black piano on the curved edge of the stage, sliding my nails over the checkered keys.

"Sorry everyone! I'm her band mate, she was just waiting for me to arrive!"

"Kiki?" Kiara echoed flatly, almost as if to convince herself she wasn't deluded.

Only a few people call her that name.

She slowly slid her gaze off the crowd, face blurred between several questions.

"Did u just call me-"

"Shhh." I hushed at her from the corner of the keys.

"Let's make some magic."
