June 29th Tuesday 6.30pm.

Jin's Pov
Mason insisted he drove me home.

He watched the footage, all of it. With open eyes and a open mouth.

All other journalists were driven out of the room, seconds after he inserted the chip into his computer. And it's a good thing they were.Because if anyone else saw that footage, I would probably end up dead within the next few weeks.

No, don't thinkabout that, think about something else, look outside.

Though his car's tinted windows, I watchedbuildings fly backward, soon swallowed by the darkening plethora of orange clouds.

Children huddled under blinking purple street lamps, undecidedly glitching from on to off
attempted paint jobs at thecorners of buildings were peeling off, aged by hail. the stained shopbells twinkled their honest tunes.

In that very moment, back in the meeting room, years had seemed to thaw off of Mason.

He was tense, and with theblue light from the Monitor blaring on his face, he looked like he was drowning.

Hey hey hey!" A girl shouted from the Monitor. "You want me to call Child services?"

"Call them!"

" LET GO OF ME YOU DEADBEAT!"

"Let's see how u fare, with ur little comradery at your side."

A crackling smack caused both of us to turn our heads away in horror. The small part of me that  was convinced  watching that footage wasn't enough proof, was gone.

....

Mason hit the breaks causing my body to jolt up. His eyes crinkled at mine through the car mirror. He looked conflicted. Unsure.

'jin.' He spoke lowly. 'I checked the mail forthe past week of your department. There was no drive logged under anyof the accounts.'

I may of not seen my face in that moment, but there was no doubt that my silence gave it away.
'Who sent you that video?'

I remained frozen.

'What do you want to get out of this.'

'To get someone out.' My voice audibly cracked.Just a little.

We listened to the start of rain drumroll against the windows.

Mason's eyes became tunnels. 'You have my word.' I have little time left. I have someone's word. And I know I could lose bothquickly.

But at least, I have a comrade to go down with.
