Maya's POV
Voices. Good. Bad. Evil.
They worm into our heads as thoughts and dance out of our mouths, fashioning different tones and dialects.

Different messages, warm, cold, a mixture, it never really matters until you have the right context...

Yet somehow, the gut wrenching commotion from inside of me is telling me that context isn't a necessity right now, not an option that I can get at a time like this.

Context is a priveledge, because sometimes, you don't always have enough time in life to ask all the right questions. You just go off of instinct.

So when I hear the lash of my fathers voice reverberate from outside the walls, I don't question,
I run.

I run as quickly as my legs can, Ayato is hot on my trail behind me.

The noises from outside stiffly grow monstrously, dragging me closer, the sounds only to be overlapped by my heels scraping the bannisters,my arms flapping past the new servants that came with Dad from abroad, with trays upon trays of food.
WOOOSH
"Shit Sorry!" I slam into a worker, balancing several trays of Tempura with her arms. "WHY!" He screams.
"DAMN IT!!!"

"I'll pay for the dry cleaning!"

I arch my self over the golden wooden bannister, so my legs are fully supported by the slick gold wooden surface. I look backwards to find Ayato staring at me like I'm insane.
"No." He says.
"Yes dude."

And with that, I kick myself forward, causing my body to bellyflop down the staircase at tremendous speed.
My surroundings run backwards as I race forward, the breeze licking my face.
I watch as I dip further down, past the other floors, the golden chandeliers grow taller and taller, the entrance to the house growing closer and closer.

"Ssssshheeeessseeeesheeeeeeiiitttt."
I whip my head back to find someone else tumbling down the bannister with me.
"AYATO WTF!"
My eyes peel back to feel the rougher edge of the bannister underneath my grip, meaning that the bottom was close by.

With everything I had I threw myself over the stairs before I could slam I into knob at the bottom of the staircase, causing Ayato to yell profanities in defiance as he prepares to make love to the walls.

I race past the music room, past the servants quarters, over the carpeted floors and rugs that softened my trips and falls.
My fingers crumbled into fists. My head was pounding, my heart was thumping.
The pipeline of adrenaline between my heart and my brain made symphonies that crashed away and back.

My mind was drilling for answers.
My mouth was dry of explanations.
Maybe this had nothing to do with me?
Maybe I was just overthinking again?

I sighed, defeatedly throwing my hands up. My dad is still on business. Its probably concerning his clients-

"Maya Kirencho."
I stopped in my tracks turning round.
Hello?
"What did you say Boy?"
My dad's voice came back into the picture. I slowly walk down the pathway.
Who is he talking t-
No flipping way.
"LEV?" I jolt round to find Ayato crudely jabbing a finger away at the figure in the distance.
My father turns round darkly.
"You know him?"
Ayato snorts. "Know him? KNOW HIM? Let me tell you-"
"Iwillkillyou." I prod my fingernails into Ayato's chest, willing him to look at me.
"Iwillkillyou."

"MAYA?" Kai growls, throwing an accusatory glance back at Lev. "This man claims...to be your significant other, he seems to be unaware that Ayato is to be your wedded husband when the time is due."

"WHAT?!" Lev shouts causing me to flinch.

"Shit bro you didn't tell me she was already taken ." A tall chinese girl with large sunglasses sported on top of her head behind lev kicks the gravel turf with her yellow Jimmy choos.

"I thought the little one was Maya not her, damn both of them are total hotties."
"EXCUSE ME?" My father spun back enraged.
She threw her hands up casually.

"What? Just saying you all has some good genes, so who is that anyway?"
She pointed at my shivering sister who looked absolutely terrified to suddenly be the center of everyones attention.

"Uhh...SERENE HAS RUN AWAY FROM HOME!!!" She randomly screams, covering her ears.
"DAMN IT!" Ayato bursts out before stomping back inside. "WHAT? HEY HEY WAIT!"
My heart races as I realise I'm now without Ayato by my side.
I spin back round to face the other faces, some familiar, others unknown, my head spinning.

What in the hell is happening right now?!
