"Father-"

"Father? Did you just call me FATHER?"

Yep. He was angry. He'd already  spoken with his eyes, and they were inflamed by questions I wasn't sure I had answers to. At least, not the ideal answers. And that's what terrified me. "Confirm the truth child." He admonished, glaring up to the sky.  His hands fingered around his belt."Or Let's take a trip down memory lane shall we?"

My sisters downcast eyes flicked up like a light switch. "Uh uh." Lev looked at me with suspicion. "Maya, what is he talking about."

"No idea" My lips spoke before my brain could process the words.

Lev spotted something in my face that he wasn't going to let go of easily. He slowly wrapped an arm around my waist, as if to squeeze out whatever had poisoned me.

"No..yes you do, stop lying to me-" I couldn't look at him.

It was whiplash, Lev's  voice only bled into the backdrop of my thoughts.  The burning heat of the sun bent over my Father as if immune to him and poured deep into the ground, but it was exactly the unclear silhouette In front of me that let my memory grow an inch and some more till it ran seven years into its grave.  I touched the back of my head and could feel piano keys crushed into my skull...

The feeling never fully went away.  I looked at my Dad to see Alarm clocks ring from his lips. "Dad give her some time, she's obviously scared!" Donna choked.

The hands were already on me before Lev could stop anything from happenning. "Nah, times up."

And with one swift grab, I was being dragged down by the hair back towards the house. "I guess it is true what they say." His voice dripped on. "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."

"Hey hey hey!" The girl opposite us shouted. "You want me to call Child services?"

"Call them!" My father responded walking faster.

I could see it.  My sister, the man who I loved, and the other girl with him, becoming smaller and smaller, their voices like a fading guitar riff wavering in the air. Their shouts fell on deathened ears.

......

"Dad, let go of me."

My fathers grip was unimaginably strong.

Something snapped in me.

"I SAID LET GO OF ME YOU DEADBEAT!"

He threw my arm away and My sight fell diagonally downwards. My arms flapped aimlessly towards the Hall coat plinth, only to slamdunk the stone vase off the stool.  A large smash reverberated through the hall. SHIT!

"You like to play games little girl?"

My shadow on the floor had crumpled into a shell of itself,  but it was slowly  blending with another one from behind.

"Let's see how u fare, with ur little comradery at your side
