TOGETHER AGAIN [levi ackerman x reader]

Y/N POV*

I hop off the horse and use the ODM gear to fly to the tallest tree to get a good look at how many titans were after us. There was a total of 6 10-meter titans. I turn back to inform Captain Levi.

"Captain! There are 6 of them!" I scream down to him.

This was going to be hard to kill all at once, especially since they are so tall. I check my gas and blades. Enough to kill at least 3. I remain in my position as I hid from the titans by lowering myself to blend in with the branches since I was small. I planned a sneak attack since I didn't have much gas left. I felt the vibrating footsteps of a titan approaching my tree. I grip my blade and swing myself around the titan quickly to avoid it possibly grabbing me and eating me. I quickly slice the nape and allow it to fall on the ground with a thud.

2 more to go.

I drop myself to the ground and see Captain Levi along with Eren and Mikasa killing the other 3 titans. I look over to my left and see another one approaching. I use the little amount of gas I have left to swing from one tree to the another. Now, I was positioned behind the titan. I charge at it, expecting another clean kill, but instead, I felt myself lowering on to the ground. Shit! I have no gas left! Before I could hit the ground, I felt a pair of big hands grabbing me by my torso. Fuck! I'm caught! I tried to use my blades to slice myself free from its' grasp, but the blade was too dull. There was nothing I could do and there was no one else beside me. Looks like I'll die today. I close my eyes as I feel myself being lifted higher and closer to its mouth. Suddenly, I feel the grip around me loosen as I fall. The titan shifts forward and starts to fall. Its nape has been cut. I look around and see Captain Levi lying next to the titan. My eyes widen.

Did Captain save me?

I rush over to Captain's side. "Captain Levi? Please wake up. Don't die. Don't leave me alone. I need you."

I lift him up with his arms and notice that he has two big scratches on his back. It was big enough to cover his entire back. My eyes started to tear up. I couldn't hold it in. I didn't want Captain Levi to die because of me. I wasn't worth it. I was nobody. Yet, the ground started to vibrate again as another titan charged toward us. I close my eyes wishing it killed me. However, all I heard was a huge thud as it fell to the ground. I opened my eyes to see Sasha standing there with a bloody blade.

"Sasha?"

"Y/n, what are you doing here? How's Captain?"

"I-I-I don't know. He's hurt a-and he won't wake up. Can you bring the horses back?" I cried.

Sasha nodded. "I'll be right back."

I held on to Captain Levi tightly wishing he'd wake up. I didn't know how I felt at this point. I just knew I wanted him alive. I held on to his upper body tightly and sniffled.

"Levi, don't die, please. I have so much to tell you. I don't want to lose you. I need you. I-I love you." I whispered.

Suddenly, I felt his arm move under me and release my grasp on him just a little. I see his eyes slowly open as he grunted.

"C-captain? You're awake? It's me, y/n!"

"Y/n, don't cry. I'm fine." He was barely able to talk. At this point, more tears came rolling out of my eyes.

"I'm so glad you're alive." I whispered, while holding him close to me. I felt his hand pat me in the back. "You're hurt so badly, yet you're the one comforting me."

"I'll be fine as long as you are safe, y/n."

BACK AT THE HEADQUARTERS*

I held Levi's arm and helped him sit down on the bed as his back was just bandaged up. I sat on the chair right next to him.

"Thank you, Captain, for saving me. But next time, please don't risk yourself in order to save me. I don't want you to die." I say, while looking down.

"Oi brat, you want there to be a next time?" He snapped.

"No sir. I'm sorry." I say, while I look back up at him. Surprisingly, his eyes have softened, and he lifted his hand to wipe the remaining tears on my cheeks. "It's okay, y/n." I show him a small smile. Suddenly, I hear knocks on the door. "Yo, Levi, it's me. Can I come in?" I get up and open the door to reveal Hange. "Oh y/n, you're in here too? Should I come back next time?"

"Oh no, I'll be leaving now." I say quickly. I look back at Levi. "I'll be taking my leave now, sir." I walked out and close the door behind me.

THIRD POV*

"Hange, why did you come now?"

"Pardon? Did I interrupt something?"

"Tch, no."

"I'm just coming to check on you. How are you holding up?"

"I'm fine. Only hurt my back, that's all."

"Hmmm...well you were unconscious for a while. Y/n volunteered to carry you back all the way to your room... It was very considerate and nice of her." A small smile formed on Levi's lips.

"Huh? Is that a smile I see? You barely smile." Hange sighed. "You're still not going to tell her the truth, aren't you? That you guys were once a happy couple?"

"She doesn't need to know now."

"But you risked your own life to save her. You knew you were out of gas and still decided-"

"It doesn't matter. As long as she's safe, I'm willing to do anything."

Hange sighed, knowing it was useless convincing him. All she wanted was for Levi to be happy and live for himself once. "Alright Levi, now that you're okay, I'll go check on the others. Call me if you need anything." Hange said, before leaving the room, closing the door behind him.

Little did y/n know, Levi heard everything she said when he was unconscious. Levi thought that even if he had died, it would have been worth it. He finally heard the three words that he longed to hear from y/n. I love you.

Y/N POV*

I jolt up from my nap with my head full of sweat. I had that dream, again. It was the same man, saying the same things to me. That man felt so familiar to me. I was sure that I knew him. In my dream, I had gifted him a green necklace. I shook my head. I must have been too tired. Maybe these were just memories from before the accident. I lay back down and close my eyes, trying to fall into a deep sleep to forget this day.
