Cause of Things

You open your eyes and slowly lift your head. Due to your mouth being taped shut and your hands and feet tied behind you, you couldn't move or call for help. You looked to your left and right. There was a small table and a bed in front of you. Beside you was the door to this room that you seemed to be in. You tried to use your butt to move toward the door, but the wooden floor was preventing you from moving in any way. You were trapped. The more you moved, the more energy you used, the weaker you felt. You leaned your head back onto the dirty wall, not caring if the dust got on you. What was important to you was being alive. It wasn't easy to reunite with your old lover and you didn't want to leave him so soon. You wanted to build a future with him, but this situation wasn't helping. You looked down to your pockets to see if you had any weapons, like a small knife or something. But unfortunately, you had nothing on you, except the handkerchief that you bought Levi before. You didn't have the courage to give it to him even if he was face to face with you before, but now, you thought that you would give it to him no matter what, that is, if you were able to see him again. Your brain filled with the time that you spent with Levi as it was the only thing that comforted you at this moment. At the same time, you couldn't help but feel guilty for leaving him again, if you weren't going to make it out alive. Suddenly, the sound of footsteps stomping on the wooden floor alerted you. You quickly look toward the door, hoping it was someone that was able to save you. The door slowly opened, as all you saw was their tall familiar figure that slowly crept toward you. It stopped in front of you as you lift your head.

Is he here to save me?

Your eyes widen in response. What's he doing here? Did they ask him to save me?

To your surprise, he walked over to you and tore the tape off your mouth. You close your eyes and wince in pain. That hurt like a bitch. "How do you know I'm here?"

He looked at you with a straight face before opening his mouth to answer you. "Why wouldn't I know? After all, I'm the one that bought you here." He smirked at you.

"Are you joking right now?"

His eyebrows knitted together as he cocked his neck the opposite direction. "Do I look like I'm kidding right now? You think I'm doing this for fun?"

"Then why are you doing this? Have I offended you? If I did, I apologize. Now would you please let me go."

"Now give me a reason why I should let you go. You know, it took a lot of effort to stalk you and capture you. You're here as a reward for my hard work that should be recognized."

"Is this why you joined the Survey Corps?"

"Precisely, yes."

"Creep." You breathe out. "Let me go now. Before my friends come looking for me."

"Then I shall wait for them to come."

You roll your eyes at him and look away. You didn't want to look at his face.

JEAN POV*

I thought back to the conversation that I had with Nick. It was weird. He was weird. He's been acting strange all week ever since I told him about y/n and I falling apart. I looked for him multiple times, but he claimed to be too busy. But what was he busy with? He would almost never reject any chances to hang out. We were practically best friends. I was angry and upset. On top of this, I also lost the one person I loved. I continued walking, dragging my body along the busy roads filled with people. Without even knowing, I walked to the shop that I often saw y/n roaming around. It reminded me of her. However, my attention turned to a group of people who I thought looked familiar. They were wearing the survey corps cape as they were frantically running around asking people if they knew someone. Among them was Captain Levi.
