Hey guys! This is a brand new chapter and I hope you enjoy! This is the second part of the last chapter, I published. I just couldn't put anymore writings in the last chapter so I had to make another chapter.
Rick clears his throat. "But you don't know? How can you not know?" He asked Jenner, trying to get more answers. Luckily, Jenner answers him. "Everything went down. Communications, directives-all of it. I've been in the dark for almost a month."
Andrea finally spoke up too. "So it's not just here. There's nothing left anywhere? Nothing? That's what you're really saying, right?"
Jacqui rolled her eyes,, considering he's working at the CDC. "Jesus."
Daryl who really didn't care about anything or anybody but his brother. "Man, I'm gonna get shitfaced drunk again."
Dale ignored him and sighed. "Dr. Jenner, I know this has been taxing for you and I hate to ask one more question, but...that clock-it's counting down. What happens at zero?" He got nervous.
Jenner rolled his eyes for the whole twenty-one questions. "The basement generators-they run out of fuel." Rick cocks an eyebrow "And then?"
I listen closely and stand there by Glenn and Jacqui confused and worried myself.
Jenner ignores the question and walks out of the big room, we start to follow him, we needed more answers, but then I hear Rick's voice again. "VI, what happens when the power runs out?" Rick asked the computer.
VI spoke up "When the power runs out, facility-wide decontamination will occur."
We got nervous and start to run down stairs looking for the generators. Lights automatically come on as we started to enter the basement.
Glenn sounded nervous just like we were. "Decontamination-what does that mean?" He asked.
Shane finally spoke up, after a while. "I don't like the way Jenner clammed up. The way he just wandered off like that."
"What's wrong with him? Seriously, man. Is he nuts, medicated, what?" Tdog agrees with Shane and Glenn as the rest of us.
Rick walks over to the map that was in the basement and onto the wall, pointing to a room. "In there." He says as the lights in the room come on when the door opens.
We walk through the utility room looking for the generator. Rick somehow finds us and also finds a barrel with a hose coming out of it. Rick walks over and reads the gauge that reads 'almost empty'. He tests the barrel. Rick sighed annoyed at what it read. " It's empty." The Generator clacks, and lights flicker and go out, different lighting comes on.
VI spoke up. "Emergency lighting is on."
Shane was checking out the gauge along with Rick and I. "What the Hell is this?"
Glenn and T-Dog run up to us, finally.
Glenn had a confused look on his face. "Hey, you guys kill the lights?" I shake my head no, along with Rick.
Shane shook his. "Nah, it just went out."
Rick turned to T-dog and Glenn "Anything?"
T-Dog nods. "Yeah, a lot of dead generators and more empty fuel drums than I can count."
Shane was disagreeing now, trying to have some hope, in life. "It can't be down to just that one." We all run into the same direction hoping to find anymore generators that weren't empty but unfortunately, we didn't have any luck of doing that, they were all empty. We finally head back to the others where we see Daryl, Carol, Dr. Jenner, Lori and Dale all discussing a situation.
