"There were two circle members inside the Pandemonium, the blood was given to them, now we can only assume that their seemingly return in activities has happened because they have acquired a new leader or.." Nate started, giving a look at his siblings who suddenly grew very pale.

"Valentine is back" Izzy and Alec spoke simultaneously, making the middle Lightwood sibling nod while pointing a finger at them.

"Exactly, which means that we need more information about the guy, I mean what do we actually know? The clave won't tell us what we need, they never do, but we can get the information somewhere else" Nate finished, getting a bright grin from his twin while Alec looked confused between the duo.

"What are you two talking about?"

"The downworlders, big brother, they could tell us everything about what happened" Izzy was the one to answer this time, only to receive an eye roll from her brother as he shook his head.

"They could manipulate the story, Iz, there's no way we could know they are actually speaking the truth" Izzy's grin was replaced by a mischievous smirk, which was soon mirrored by her twin as she walked closer to Alec.

"As far as I know, seelies can't lie" Alec gave her a look, but soon groaned in defeat, nodding his head as he acknowledged her point.

"Fine,  you do your thing and find out more about the circle while Nate and I deal with Jace and the little girl" hugging her big brother, Izzy couldn't help but wink at her twin, seeing the annoyed look on his face.

"But Izzy and I always go on missions together, why can't I go with her?" Nate asked in frustration, passing his fingers through his dark brown hair before his eyes caught an unknown person entering the institute.

In a matter of seconds, his snake dagger was caught just before Simon's face, making the mundane jump in frighten as he saw the blood flowing from the wound on Jace's hand as Clary screamed beside him.

"Oh my God! What was that? Why did you do that?" The orange haired female screamed while looking between the shadowhunters, while Jace hissed in pain.

"What's going on? Why is there a mundane in the institute?" Alec questioned the trio that had just entered, while his siblings followed behind.

"Was that necessary? And to answer your question Alec, a circle member followed him to get to Clary" Jace answered while throwing the dagger back at Nate, who expertly caught it by the handle, twirling it in his hand with a smug smirk as the blonde draw an iratze healing rune to close the wound.

"I was hoping it would magically kill you, it's a shame I wasn't born with warlock powers on this lifetime" Nate answered as his smirk widened, making his best friend punch his shoulder playfully before they were interrupted.

"A circle rune, just like the guys that took my mother" Clary said while looking at Nate, making him roll his brown eyes at her.

"We got that part when Jace mentioned a circle member, Chucky, no need to be redundant" her cheeks flamed a deep red and she turned her gaze to the others, making Simon clear his throat to help her out of her misery.

"What exactly is a circle member and why are they trying to kill us?"

Nate snorted at this, placing his dagger back in his clothes as he looked at the brunette "Oh don't feel so special, they would actually be fine with killing everyone, it's not just you"

Jace smirked as he saw the mundane shaking at his brother's words, but decided to continue once he noticed the confused expression on Clary's face.

"All we know is... a long time ago the Circle led a revolt, a lot of Shadowhunters god killed... including my father"

"It wasn't only the Shadowhunters though, my best friend was one of the few seelies that actually survived the attack of the Circle" Izzy spoke up with a frown, leaning her head against Nate's shoulder as he wrapped his fingers around hers in a supporting manner.
