The silence woke him
Nathaniel stirred up feeling the bed empty beside him and his eyes immediately snapped open.
Silence wasn't common in Morgana's room, not when there were other four wolves living with her.
Jumping from the bed, the Shadowhunter quickly jogged over to the drawer where he kept some of his clothes and took some black sweatpants, quickly slipping it over his legs before he left the room.
He could hear his heart palpitations against his rib cage, he could almost feel them cracking due to the pressure.
His hands were sweating, his vision dizzy, the silence was making everything worse.
Nathaniel hated the silence.
The last time he had heard the complete horror of the silence was when the Clave had tried to kill him and Izzy in their sleep.

He crouched down with his hands on his head, tears gliding down his eyes as he clenched his teeth in an attempt to stop his sobs as the panic attack started.

His eyes opened hesitantly, onyx meeting onyx, which were too filled with tears.
He felt guilty for making his twin feel the same thing he did, but she simply gave him a soft smile.

Until he was finally matching her own breathing speed and his heartbeat wasn't as fast as before.
"S-she wasn't there, she wasn't there" Nate stuttered as he held onto his twin, still in a fragile state, not even noticing how she was taking him outside with her.
"Mora wanted you to get a few more hours of rest, but she's outside training with the Little Queen" Izzy told him softly, giving him a side hug.
The silence was finally broken as they left the giant walls of the castle, making Nate look up in wonder as he immediately caught sight of Morgana fighting with the little queen by the waterfall.
As if they could feel their presence, Morgana tripped Amara over, sending her to the water.
Izzy grinned as Amara screamed loudly, while Morgana's eyes were completely focused on them, on him.
Concerned silver eyes looked at the tear stained face of her fiancée and in a matter of seconds she stood in front of him.
Arms wrapping around his neck loosely as he quickly snaked his own around her waist, while placing his face on her neck.
"What happened, A rúnsearc?" Mora questioned calmly, caressing the tip of his hair while giving a side glance to Izzy, who simply shook her head and started to walk to Amara.
"... You weren't there" Nathaniel mumbled against her neck, sending a shiver down her spine as he continued to hold tightly onto her.
Frowning slightly, the seelie huntress tilted her head in an attempt to look at her lover, using her knuckles to brush against his jaw as he slowly looked at her, meeting her confused eyes.
"... because I was here" Mora answered quietly, making the corner of his lips pull up a little at her blunt response before he looked down again.
"I know, love"
"Why were you crying then?" Mora tried again, tilting his head up so he could look at her.
She didn't want him to lie to her.
Nate stared at his fiancée for a long while, making her cheeks turn pink and silver irises to look away for a second, breaking the intense gaze, which got her pouting at herself and Nate smiling cheekily.
"Because I thought I had lost you"
His eyes seemed sincere as he answered and Seelies being unable to lie have always been great judges to know when other people were lying.
Her eyes softened at his answered and she didn't hesitate to reply "You will never lose me, A rúnsearc"
"Don't ever leave me, okay?"
"I promise"
And he was never more thankful to know that she couldn't lie
