Her silver eyes, which had been the first thing to attract his attention when they met, were infuriating whenever she glared like that at him.

Their eyes were locked in a seemingly endless competition, one that he knew she wouldn't back out, making Nate sigh as he looked away first, opening his mouth to try and reason with his lover, only for a short yet calm "No" to interrupt his thoughts.

"You didn't even hear me out!"

His voice was nowhere as calm as hers, showing every bit of frustration building up on his body as she continued staring at him emotionlessly.

Seeing her raised eyebrow, the Lightwood grunted and walked forward, taking off his shoes as he sat beside her on the bed.

"May I?" The sarcastic tone wasn't missed by the brunette, making the corner of her lips tilt upwards as she watched her boyfriend taking her hand in his as he started to play with her ring.

"We were on a mission, demons were killing mundanes and draining their blood, we didn't know why" Nathaniel started to explain the situation since the beginning, mentioning how he saw the circle members, the new shadowhunter and all of that.

Morgana listened silently, not once speaking up, but memorizing every detail he had given her until he finished everything.

"Are you done?" The seelie warrior questioned after a moment of silence, receiving a glare from her boyfriend, who placed his hands around her waist as he pulled her on his lap.

Her arms wrapped loosely around his neck, playing softly with his hair as he started to make patterns with his fingers against her warm skin, eyes closing as they bathed in the pleasure of being in each other's arms.

"I love you, darling" he whispered, almost too softly for her to hear, but she still did. His lips brushing gently against hers as he tempted her to make the first move.

"Is tú mo ghrá" ('I love you' in Irish)

His lips widened in a smile at her use of her native language, fingers pulling her body even closer to his body as she shivered under his hold, bringing his head closer as she kissed him.

Nate couldn't help the smirk that formed on his lips as she kissed him first, making his lover growl threatening, before he deepened the kiss

Nate couldn't help the smirk that formed on his lips as she kissed him first, making his lover growl threatening, before he deepened the kiss.

"Now I'm done" The Lightwood said, referring to her previous question, as they ended the kiss.

Morgana rolled her eyes playfully, a small smile playing on her lips as she kissed him one more time, before sighing as she thought of their current situation.

"The girl probably had her memory wiped by a warlock, if she has always lived here, the only one that could have the amount of magic necessary to do it would be Sparkle"

The couple frowned at this, not wanting to involve their dearest friend into Valentine's mess, but Morgana continued.

"The girl? She's not a Fray, as far as I know she's a Fairchild, her mother was married to Valentine which makes her..." trailing off so Nate could conclude it for himself, she noticed how his eyes widened.

"No way, she's the monster's daughter?"

"Or her mother had an affair" Morgana shrugged.

"But I don't understand, didn't he die? Who is behind everything that's happening now?" His question left her in silence, he could feel her hesitation, making him frown in worry.

"Are you not allowed to say?"

"I am"

Sometimes she wanted to curse her inability to lie, but cursing wouldn't change anything, so the fay simply sighed and looked deeply into his eyes.

"There are rumors" Morgana started, her eyes turning darker by the seconds as she continued "He didn't really die, Nate"

His face remained blank, but she knew it had affected him by the way his fingers tightened their hold onto her.

"He's been hunting our kind for a while, Amara prohibited everyone besides me from leaving Faerieland"

His eyes softened at her words, calloused fingers caressing her cheek as she leaned on his touch.

"Why didn't you tell me, love?" The question seemed genuine, he wasn't hurt by the fact that she didn't tell him, there were things that he didn't tell her about his missions as well.

"I wasn't in immediate danger and the clave knows about his return, they just don't care if he continues killing us off" Morgana answered truthfully, pulling the silver chain which was hidden under his T-shirt, holding his promise ring.

While hers consisted of an almost black snake, his was a silver ring with 'Mo Anam Cara' meaning, 'My Soul Mate' etched into the band and the Claddagh symbol in between the words, the area behind the wording in black.

His dark eyes watched her carefully with a rising rage hiding in his body, he knew the clave didn't care about them and quite sincerely, if it wasn't for Izzy he probably would be another one of those who didn't give a shit about the downworlders.

But he did give a shit, his girlfriend was one and he could lose her because of the inflated ego of the clave, thinking that merely because of their angel blood they were better than the others.

He was sick of them.
