I had potions class with Slughorn. We were learning how to brew a wolves bane potion.

Slughorn walked over to me. He picked up something from the ground. "My dear, is this yours?" Slughorn asked.

I looked at the piece of paper and unraveled it. It was a recipe to the potion I created last year, but I failed.

"It's not of use anymore", I said.

"What is it?" Slughorn asked.

"I was working on a new potion, sir. Last year. It was supposed to show you someone's memories, but I created a potion that shows the future", I said.

Professor Slughorn looked impressed. "Irina Black, that is amazing", he said.

"But it failed", I said.

"But you still created something extraordinary. Irina Black, I think there's a spot for you in the Slug Club", Professor Slughorn said. "After class, I'll let you know the time and date for dinner".

I didn't know what the Slug Club was, but at least I got into a group that will help me move on.

Later that night, after me and Hermione watched Ron's Quidditch tryouts, I sat in the common room alone. With Oliver Wood no longer at Hogwarts, Harry had to coach and Ginny was an amazing Quidditch player. Since all my friends were there and most of them were Quidditch players or trying out, I was forced to watch the game.

I was studying for Defense Against the Dark Arts when I heard, "Psst". I looked around and saw no one.

"Psst".

I looked at the fireplace and set my books on the couch. I stood up and looked at the fireplace.

I saw a face in the fire. I sat in front of the fireplace to get a closer look. I recognized that face.

"Irina", Sirius said.

"Father", I said. "Is this new? Wait, what are you doing here?"

"Answering your letter", Dad said. "I'm really sorry about those girls. I hope they've stopped".

"Ron told them they'd have to go through him and Harry if they had a problem with me. They said horrible things, Dad", I said. "How do you go through with it".

"Well, until I can clear my name, what matters is the ones I care about know the truth", Sirius said. "Do your friends know you're not a Death Eater?"

"Yes", I said.

"Then, that's all that matters, Iris. And from what I hear, your friends have got your back", Sirius said. "Now, you should get to bed".

"Thank you, Dad", I said. I got up and grabbed my books. I went up the stairs to go to my dorm.

I sat beside Neville eating in silence. Slughorn asked Hermione about her parents, who were Muggle dentists. Slughorn asked if that's dangerous. I think the answer is no.

"Irina", Slughorn said. "We know much about your father".

No, you don't.

"Do you mind telling us about your mother?" Slughorn asked.

"Actually, My mother is dead", I said. "But I heard her name was 'Harley Evans'".

Harry looked at me. He found out our mothers were sisters when I arrived at his aunt and uncle's house during the summer.

It was a short visit. My Aunt Petunia didn't give a damn about me either. Her husband, who I refuse to call my uncle, is horrible. My cousin, Dudley, he didn't say anything to me.

"Really? Your mother is Harley Evans?" Slughorn asked. I nodded.

"You knew her?" Neville asked.

"Yes. She was the sweetest little girl. She always came to take her sister back to their common room when our meeting was finished", Slughorn said. "Well do you have any aunts or uncles looking after you?"

"No, but I have my godfather. He's been looking after me all these years", I said.

"I don't understand how that works".

"When I was born, my parents chose one of their friends, someone they're both really close with, to be my godfather. He's been a father to me all these years", I said.

"I see", Slughorn said. "What is it your godfather does".

"He's an Auror", I said. I couldn't really tell them that he's part of the Order of the Phoenix.

I looked at Neville. We smiled at each other.

We saw Ginny walk into the room. She looked unhappy. I could tell she had another argument with Dean.

"Look at her eyes. They've been fighting again. Guarentee", Hermione said.

"Sorry. I'm not usually late", Ginny said.

Harry stands from his seat and looks at Ginny. I looked at him in confusion. "Sit down, Potter, before you make a fool out of yourself", I said.

"No matter. Just in time for dessert", Slughorn said as Ginny sat down. I pulled Harry down to his seat.
