Past and Remembrance

When I woke up, I was on the Hogwarts Express. I sat in a compartment with Ginny and Luna.

"Bloody hell, those work", I said in amazement. I looked at Luna and smiled. "Hey Luna".

"Hello Iris", Luna said. I gave her a hug. "How are holding up?"

"If I can get through the year, I'd say I'll be alright", I said. "I don't really want anyone to ask me that question".

Neville stood by the compartment doorway. I looked at him and smiled. Me and Neville hugged each other. When we let go of each other, we looked at each other longingly Ginny walked towards Neville to hug him. Then, Luna got her hug.

We sat together. Neville and Ginny spoke that they almost didn't come to school because Mrs. Weasley and Neville's Grandmother were worried now that Voldemort is back.

"Remus and my father had spoken about whether to let me go to Hogwarts. They were quite hesitant about letting me go", I explained.

"How are you holding up?" Neville asked. I looked at him, but I didn't answer.

"Neville, she doesn't want anyone to ask her that question", Ginny said.

"I'm holding up", I said. "Or at least, trying to hold up". Ginny gave me a look.

Harley ran down the stairs in the Gryffindor common room. She ran towards James, Sirius and Peter.

"Harley, what are you doing up?" Sirius asked.

"I'm coming with you", Harley said. She shoved her books and her container full of pumpkin juice into her backpack.

"Harley, it's dangerous", Sirius said.

"I don't care", Harley snapped. "Now, let's go. Remus needs us". Harley ran out of the Gryffindor common room. James, Peter and Sirius ran after her.

James grabbed Harley. "You can't just run out there. Do you want to get caught by Filch or Mrs. Norris?" He asked Harley.

"What do we do?" Harley asked.

"We use this", James said, showing Harley his invisibility cloak.

James, Harley, Peter and Sirius got under the invisibility cloak.

"So do you want to talk about what happened with Snivellous the other day?" Sirius asked Harley.

"Can we not bring him up?" Harley asked.

"I told him to apologize. I'm sorry he called you and Lily that awful name", James said.

"Why are you sorry? You didn't tell him to say that. You didn't call me and Lily 'Mudbloods'. You have nothing to apologize for", Harley said.

Sirius and James glanced at Harley before they looked at each other.

"Will Muggleborns ever get treated equally to Purebloods?" Harley asked.

"We can't predict the future, Harley. Let's get to the Shrieking Shack before daylight", James said.

I sat at the table in the Great Hall. Me, Ron, Hermione and Ginny waited for Harry to show up. Me and Hermione were getting worried as Ron continued eating.

"Will. You. Stop. Eating", Hermione said as she hits Ron with one of her books. She hits him at every word. "Your best friend is missing".

I really feel like Hermione is the mom of the Golden trio. I swear I heard her tell Harry and Ron to go to bed. Last year or the year before last.

"Hermione, turn around, you lunatic",Ron said.

We saw Harry walked towards us. He had blood below his nose. "He's covered in blood again. Why is it he's always covered in blood?" Ginny asked.

Harry sat next to me and Ginny. "Where have you been?" Hermione asked. "What happened to your face?"

"Later. What have I missed?" Harry asked.

"The Sortin hat says to be brave and strong in these troubled times. Easy for it to say, eh? He's a hat", Ron said.

"He has a point, though", I said.

Ginny helped Harry clean his face with the rag in his hand. "Thanks", Harry said.

"Very best of evenings to you all", Dumbledore said. We all looked towards the front of the room. Another Du speech. "First off, let me introduce the newest member of our staff".

"Let me guess, for Defense against the Dark Arts?" I asked in a whisper.

"Horace Slughorn", Dumbledore said. We all applaud. "Professor Slughorn has agreed to resume his old post as Potions master. Meanwhile, the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts will be taken by Professor Snape".

Some people murmured while others cheered. The Professor who loathes me is going to be teaching my favorite class?

"Now as you know, each and every one of you will search upon your arrival here too night and you have the right to know why. Once, there was a young boy, who like you, sat in this very hall, walked this castle's corridor, stepped under this roof, it seemed to all the world, a student like any other. His name, Tom Riddle".

Murmurs were heard and Ginny looked uneasy. I knew about her encounter with Tom Riddles's diary.

"Today of course, he's known all over the world by another name. Which is why, as I stand, looking upon you all tonight, I'm reminded of a sobering fact. Everyday, every hour, this very minute perhaps, dark forces attempt to penetrate this castle's walls. In the end, their greatest weapon is you. Just something to think about. Now, off to bed. Pip pip", Dumbledore said.
