My first class took place in Defense Against the Dark Arts the next morning. If the class was still being taught by my godfather, I would be happy about it. He was the best teacher.
Snape was, not only cold hearted, but also hated anyone who wasn't a Slytherin. He hated Harry and I more because of Harry's father, James and my father, Sirius.
But today's lesson was different. The 4th and 5th years were having a lesson together.
That made me feel a little better about Defense against the Dark Arts because that meant I would be in a class with Ginny and Luna.
In class, me and Luna sat next to each other. Ginny and Dennis Creevey sat at the table next to us.
Everyone was chattering until Snape walked into the room. As always, his cape was in the air behind him as he walked towards the front of the room.
"Now, I must remind you that because your friends are in here, that does not excuse you to joke around", Snape said. I noticed his gaze turn to me.
I didn't look away. I knew that's what he wanted me to do. My eyebrows arch and my eyes hardened as I formed a small glare.
"Today, you all learn the art of wandless magic", Snape said.
"Wandless magic? Is that really possible?" Ginny whispered to me.
"Yes, it is", I said.
I knew it was possible because I had done it loads of times. I never really told anyone. The only person I told was Hermione.
"You will practice with the person sitting beside you", Snape said.
"It's been a while since I gone this", I said to Luna as everyone stood up.
"You've done wandless magic?" Luna asked.
"Like I said, it's been a while. I think mother could do it too", I said
"Harley?" Luna asked.
I had told Luna, Ginny and Neville about what I had found out about my mother. Neville said he'd do research to see if he could find anything.
"Yeah. Harley", I said.
"According to Neville's source, Irina's mum was a powerful witch", Ginny said.
"I think we should get started before Snape comes over here", I said.
Me and Luna practiced wandless magic. We stopped to take a break later. I looked over at a group of girls. Two were Slytherins and three were Hufflepuffs.
"That's the girl who took my shoes", Luna said. I looked at Luna. She sounded calm as always and didn't look angry.
"I don't know how you do it. You never let people bring you down. You're always cheerful. How do you do it?" I asked.
"I guess I'm used to it, but you can't loose yourself. Or else, they've already won", Luna said.
"I can hex them. I'll show them you have friends on our side", I said.
I heard water splashing behind me. I turned around. One of the Hufflepuff girls had her wand in her hand. She conjured water the size of as exercise ball and threw it towards me.
I felt fear rush over me. The water stopped moving. It sat in mid air. I was doing it. I was doing wandless magic. I felt the powerful magic flowing through my veins.
Everyone in the class looked at me. I felt blood trickle out of my nose. I threw back at the girl, soaking her and her friends.
I fell to my knees in exhaustion. Luna and Ginny ran to me. "Black!" The Hufflepuff girl shouted. I ignored her. I felt nauseous and cold.
