I'm not sure if I'll post tomorrow so I'm publishing this and the next chapter today. There will be a new chapter on Saturday though.

I was woken up by Dean the next morning. I had spent the night on the couch in the common room. Even though Dean and Ginny were now officially broken up, I didn't want to hate him. The whole Gryffindor was like family.

"Dean, what is it?" I asked.

"It's Ron", Dean said.

I ran to the hospital wing as fast as I could. I almost bumped into two Ravenclaw girls.

"Sorry!" I shouted as I continued running.

When I got there, I saw Hermione and Ginny, sitting next to Ron's bed

When I got there, I saw Hermione and Ginny, sitting next to Ron's bed. Ron was asleep in it. Harry stood next to Dumbledore, Slughorn, Professor Mcgonagall and Professor Snape.

I ran towards my friends. "I came as soon as I heard", I said. "Is he going to be alright?"

"He's better now, thanks to Harry. He just needs to rest", Ginny said.

I sighed in relief. I sat next to Hermione. I touched Ron's hand.

"He really was poisoned?" I asked. Ginny nodded. "How?" I looked at Harry and the Professors.

"We're still trying to figure that out", Harry said.

"Where is he?" I heard. I knew that voice. Bloody hell.

"Where's my Won-Won? Has he been asking for me?" Lavender asked. I rolled my eyes. Lavender looked at Hermione. "What's she doing here?" I glared at Lavender.

"Might I ask you the same question?" Hermione asked.

"I happen to be his girlfriend", Lavender said.

"I happen to be his...friend", Hermione said. My eyes widened. I looked at Ginny.

"Gin", I whispered.

"Yeah?" Ginny whispered back.

"When did she get feels for him?" I asked, pointing at Ron. Ginny mouthed "I don't know" as she shrugged her shoulders.

"Don't make me laugh. You haven't spoken in weeks. I suppose you want me to break up with him now that he's suddenly all interesting", Lavender said.

This is awkward. I should- Wait. Was this blanket always green? I swear they used to be blue.

"He's been poisoned, you daft dimbo", Hermione said. "And for the record I always found him interesting".

"You both have a right to be here. Is that hard to understand?" I asked. "And do you have to call him, 'Won-Won'? Please come up with something else".

"Ronny Poo?" Lavender asked.

I looked at Lavender as if she were crazy. "On second thought, you stick with Won-Won".

"Besides, you don't have a boyfriend yourself. I don't need you to tell me what to call my boyfriend", Lavender said.

I glared at Lavender. "Do not talk to Iris like that", Hermione said.

I heard Ron mumbling. Everyone looked at him. "See. He senses my presence", Lavender said. Or he's telling you to go away. "Don't worry, Won-Won. I'm here. I'm here".

"Her bAtA", Ron murmured. "Her...mione. Her...Hermione".

Lavender ran out of the room, crying. "I'll tell him you stopped by", I said awkwardly. I looked at Hermione with a smile. "I guess he chose you".

Someone else ran into the room. It was Neville.

I stood from my seat. "Neville", I said. I walked towards him.

"Is he alright?" Neville asked. I looked at Ron. Then, back at Neville.

"He'll be fine. He just needs some rest",I said.

"There's something I need to show you, Iris", Neville said.

"O-Okay", I said. I grabbed his hand. We ran out of the room together. I looked back to see Dumbledore smiling at us. Did he know what's about to happen?

Me and Neville went into the room of requirements. We stood in the middle of the room. There was a pond in front of us.

Neville conjured a patronus. It took the form of a wolf. I gasped.

"Th-That's impossible. The only way it would have changed is if-"

"If I had a crush. My patronus would take the form of theirs", Neville said. I looked at his patronus.

Wait a second.

I closed my eyes and thought of a happy memory. "Expecto Patronum", I said.

Then, I remembered, my patronus is a wolf.

I looked at Neville. "Why do you think I was nervous when we first met?" Neville asked.

"I just figured you weren't good at making friends", I said. "I never told you what memory I chose for my first patronus, didn't I?"

"No, I don't reckon you did", Neville said.

"I thought about that day I was on the train, heading back home after my first year. And I found you, standing by the trolley. You told me you never met anyone brave enough to try Bertie Botts every flavour beans. I thought you were brave though. And, as I walked away, I realized that I had a crush on you", I said. "The emo girl has a crush on the nerd. How about that?"

"Sounds like a nice story", Neville said.

"So it doesn't bother you that I'm...dangerous?" I asked.

"You're not dangerous to me, Iris Black. The girl who protects her friends and rips Death Eaters to shreds. You're not dangerous. Not to me at least", Neville said.

We were close to each other. I could hear Neville breathing and my heart pounding.

"What if I'm not the right person? If anyone deserves a good life, it's you", I said.

"Then, I'll spend it with you", Neville said.

Our lips touched.
