Favours for friends
Unfortunately, it didn't seem like the nice Italian weather was lasting very long. Not only had it been colder than expected, but today rain poured down from the sky, leaving a cloudy haze. Today the boys had business to attend to, so for the time being, it was only Emily in the house. She decided that since it was gloomy out, she was going to stay inside and enjoy Italy as much as she could from the indoors.
Since she did have a lot of free time on her hands, Emily thought it was a perfect idea to bake some cookies for when the boys all come home.
A few hours later, Emily had been sitting on the couch reading a book, deep in her own thoughts, when suddenly a massive weight fell upon Emily's back.
"Jeongguk get off of me!" Emily couldn't help but laugh at the young maknae, pushing him off her back and onto the floor beside her. "You scared me!" Emily exclaimed, giving him her best fake angry face.
Jeongguk landed onto the floor with a thud, but he couldn't help the vigorous laugh escaping him once he saw Emily's face. Emily couldn't even pretend to be mad once he started laughing like that. Emily could tell that it was Jeongguk from the beginning because of the gleeful giggle he let out as he jumped on her, plus he was the only one of the group that would have this much energy after a long day. The baby maknae always seemed so high in energy, no matter the circumstance. Taehyung walked into the room shortly after, grinning at Emily. The other boys went their separate ways around the house, and Taehyung sat beside Emily on the couch.
"How was your day? Did you miss me?" Tae says, nudging her slightly in a joking manner. Emily rolled her eyes playfully and leaned into Taehyung's side. Taehyung was always a playful flirt and everyone knew that. Hell, she'd even caught him playfully flirting with some of the boys. "Let's watch a movie, just you and I?" Tae suggests, pulling Emily closer into his side. Emily was quick to agree, happy to spend time with him, no matter what they were doing. After a short discussion about what to watch, Tae suggested a Marvel movie, and Emily chose the new Spiderman movie which they had already watched.
The movie was good, and the two loved just being near each other. At this moment, they were honestly both thankful for the gloomy weather, since it made everything seem more cozy. Halfway through the move, Jin ran into the room frantically and grabbed Emily by the arm, attempting to pull her off the couch.
"Hey you can't steal her from me! She's mine!" Taehyung grabbed Emily's hips in protest, determined not to let Jin take her away. Emily took a moment to look between the two boys before signing and looking at Tae.
"I'll go see what he wants then I'll come right back. I won't be long." Emily smiled at Taehyung who just sighed in agreement, letting go of her so she could get up.
"You owe me kisses Emily!" The pouty Taehyung shouted from the living room as Jin quickly pulled Emily into the kitchen.
Once the duo had successfully arrived in the empty kitchen, Jin motioned for Emily to sit next to him at the island.
"Okay Emily, I know this seems weird but you are the only one that I can trust with this information" Jin spoke quietly. "I'm planning a surprise for Namjoon's birthday and I had ordered him a present." The information being told all made sense, however, Emily was still confused about why Jin was rushing to tell her this information. She loved Jin in a brotherly way, they were best friends, but she didn't understand the urgency of the information. Why did he have to interrupt her time with Taehyung?
"Okay... it sounds like a good idea, but what do you need me for?" Emily asked Jin. She didn't want to sound pushy or impatient, but she did want to join Taehyung back in the living room.
"Well..." Jin smiled to his best friend and began explaining, "Could you please pick the present up for me? I ordered it and it will be ready to be picked up tomorrow morning. The boys and I have some more business to attend to tomorrow, so I can't." Jin goofily rubbed his hands together in a praying motion with his eyes closed. Emily watched him with amusement as she tried not to laugh. Jin opened one eye and looked at Emily. Instantly the two began laughing. Emily and Jin had instantly became best friends from the moment that Taehyung had introduced them, their personalities just instantly clicked and they had made so many great memories together.
"Of course I can pick it up for you Jin, it's not like I'm doing anything else anyways." It was the truth, Emily didn't have any plans tomorrow and since she had spent the entirety of today inside, she was just itching to get out and see more of Rome. She respected Taehyung's wishes for her to not wander around alone, but she didn't see any harm in doing this small favour for Jin. After all, Jin promised it wasn't far of a walk at all. The two continued to talk about it all, Jin thoroughly explaining where the pickup location was. However, Emily knew she wasn't going to remember all of the little details Jin was talking about so she encouraged him to write it down. Jin wrote fast, but Emily made sure that whatever he was writing was still legible to her. Once finished, Jin handed Emily the written directions with a smile, thanking her for doing him this favour.
"You better get back to the living room, your boyfriend isn't known for being patient." Emily laughed along with Jin before rolling her eyes and resuming her time with Taehyung.
