One Happy year
Emily woke up to Taehyung gently shaking her awake. She didn't want to wake up, however she knew Taehyung wouldn't stop. When she opened her eyes she was amazed by the room around her. Dozens of flowers decorated the room.
"Happy anniversary Em," Taehyung said quietly. Emily was in awe to say the least. Taehyung was always such a romantic person, and he also never failed to go above and beyond her expectations. Emily was filled with happiness, thinking about how lucky she was to have someone like him. It was their one year anniversary today. It had been one year since they met in Korea, but it felt like a lifetime. Although it'd only been a year, Emily couldn't imagine her life without Taehyung. He was truly the best thing that had ever happened to her. Emily sat up in bed and looked into Taehyung's eyes and smiled.
"I have a surprise for you," Taehyung said softly. Both of them wanted to keep the peaceful quiet in the room. Emily shook her head and looked around at all the flowers.
"The day has barely started and you've already done too much." Emily shook her head and laughed faintly. Taehyung just smiled at her tenderly.
"You know I could do anything and everything for you, and it would still never be enough to show you how much you mean to me," Taehyung whispered, ending his statement with a quick kiss as he stood to leave the room. "Meet me outside in the backyard once you're finished getting ready." Emily took a moment to appreciate her surroundings then rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and got up to get ready.
Once she made her way downstairs, Emily noticed that the house was eerily silent. There were way too many people living here for the house to be naturally this quiet. Ignoring that for now, Emily made her way into the backyard. It took her a moment of searching for Taehyung but she soon found him near the archery range. Once Taehyung saw Emily approaching him he smiled widely at her.
"So, I know how much you love archery and since you've been training a lot lately, I wanted to get you your own bow and arrows." Taehyung motions for Emily to look behind him, and she was amazed at what she saw. Tae had laid out a stunning bow and quiver of arrows. It was dark brown and black and decorated with gold detailing. Beside it was a quiver, dark brown with gold detailing, full of arrows that were coloured gold to match everything else. Emily put her hand over her mouth in shock.
"Taehyung! You better not have spent a lot of money on me!" To be honest Emily didn't even want to know how much this had cost him, because by the looks of it, it had cost a lot. Taehyung just smiled and hugged her. The boys and him were all well off, so spending this kind of money on Emily was nothing to him. All he wanted was to get her something that would make her happy. The two happily spent some time practicing their archery together, using the new bow and arrows. It was a simple morning, but it was filled with so much love and Emily thought that the two couldn't have thought of a better way to spend their morning together.
After the happy couple had spent an hour or so in the archery field, they both went back to the room to get cleaned up. Unknown to Taehyung, Emily had planned an afternoon picnic for the both of them, with a handmade meal lovingly prepared by herself. Since it was kind of dangerous to leave the house, she had planned a place on the front deck, privately away from the other members of the House. Emily had stepped away from Taehyung quickly to set up the picnic on her own. On the front porch she laid out a picnic blanket along with a picnic basket and some dishes. Of course it wasn't the ideal date or place, but the two knew how to make the most of things. It didn't matter where they were, they always knew they would have a good time as long as they were together.
After setting everything up, Emily went back upstairs to find Taehyung and bring him outside. Before stepping out the front door Emily had convinced Taehyung to allow her to cover his eyes as they walked out. They laughed together as Emily struggled to reach Taehyung's eyes with her hands, but as soon as she did they proceeded to step out onto the porch.
"One, two, three...." Emily took her hands off of Taehyung's eyes and he smiled down at her.
"Look! I set up a little afternoon picnic with special food prepared by myself!" Emily said excitedly, proud of all the work she had done. For both of them this was truly going to be a day to remember, and it was the first of many more anniversaries to come. "Let's eat, I don't want the food to get cold." Emily smiled as she held Taehyung's hand, pulling him with her to sit down on the picnic blanket. Emily had prepared for them a simple spaghetti dinner, loaded with her special meat sauce and of course lots of garlic bread on the side. The meal was simple, but it was one of their favourites."Thank you for everything. I can't express to you in words how much you mean to me" Taehyung said, a few minutes into their meal. Emily smiled wide as her cheeks blushed.
"I love you so much Taehyung."
"And I love you so much more."
The two smiled at each other as they continued their meal until all the food was gone and the sun was slowly starting to set. The day was very simple, but it was such a nice relaxing moment. The couple hadn't had many opportunities for romantic get-togethers lately; considering all the work that had been put into training these days, they hardly had any free time. However, they both cherished every moment they spent together, even if it was just a simple dinner on the porch.
