Moving memories
Today was the day; Emily was moving into the mafia house. The boys didn't have too much stuff they had to move because they had lived there and most of their stuff stayed. Lauren too because she lived there already. Earlier in the morning, moving trucks had arrived to deliver the newly purchased mattresses. One king size mattress for Tae and Emily's shared room; one queen for Yoongi's new room. The only other thing the group bought was a few new bar stool chairs for the kitchen which were also delivered.
The group all got out of the van in excitement. Jeongguk jumped in the air and tapped his feet together. Emily couldn't help but laugh at him, it was cute how excited he was.
"This is going to be so fun!" He shouted with joy. The young maknae had been so full of energy the past few days, he was ready to live back at the mafia house with all of his friends. Emily gathered all her things but when she reached for her suitcase Taehyung refused to let her carry it, insisting that he carry it for her. Emily smiled, not wanting Tae to carry it for her, but not wanting to argue the matter. Taehyung was always like this, a true proper gentleman. Although Emily had already seen the house's interior, she couldn't help being (once again) amazed by its lavish appearance.
Emily couldn't hold back her excitement once she had seen her and Taehyung's bedroom. The room had high ceilings and was decorated in muted blues and light greys. Taehyung had gently dropped all of their things to the floor and jumped onto the king sized bed, laying on his back.
"I can't wait to break in the new bed!" Tae winked towards Emily and she couldn't help but laugh at his goofiness. As goofy as he was, she couldn't wait either.
While everyone had gotten unpacked and settled, Jin and Yoongi had prepared dinner for everyone. Those two were always the ones in the kitchen, especially Jin who loved to always cook. The group all sat at the large dining table whilst eating and everyone was partaking in light conversations.
"Since you guys are a part of the mafia I expected you to have a personal chef or something." Emily spoke toward Jin and Yoongi who she knew took on most of the responsibility in the kitchen. Jin smiled at Emily from across the table.
"We could definitely have a chef if we wanted but I really like cooking, it brings me a lot of joy." The group was at ease, and continued to eat their graciously prepared meal, satisfied with their hyung's cooking.
After they finished eating, Taehyung brought Emily out to the backyard. Emily wasn't entirely sure what his plans were, but she trusted Tae with everything, so she just complied and followed him outside.
"I want you to meet some of the guards that we have in the mafia. Their job is to guard the house. They switch shifts between guarding the front yard and the back." Taehyung spoke softly as they approached two men standing outside the back doors. The two men were intimidating, but Emily didn't expect anything less. After all, the guards were meant to block intruders from entering the house. "This is Vincenzo and Luca".

The morning came quickly. Emily woke up after having what might've been the best sleep in her life. The new bed was so comfortable she slept like a baby. She smiled as she looked at Taehyung's sleeping figure beside her before getting up and showering. Today was going to be a great day, as it was Namjoons 27th birthday. Jin had been secretly discussing with Emily all week about the plans to throw a party for him. The group planned for Jeongguk to take Namjoon away from the house today while the others got everything ready for a surprise party. The group was going to make this a great day for Namjoon.
By the time Emily walked into the living room, Hoseok and Jin were getting out all of the decorations. Jin then left Hoseok and Yoongi to decorate the room together, which the two seemed very content to do together. While those too were decorating, Jimin, Taehyung and Lauren sat on the couch playing Mario Kart. Jin and Emily made their way into the kitchen to start making Namjoon a birthday cake.
Within a few short hours, the surprise party was almost completely set up. The living room was filled with lots of fun decorations, the room did look a little chaotic, but everyone had put so much love into making it. There was a small coffee table to the left of the couch that had a few presents for Namjoon wrapped up nicely. Emily was just finishing up the cake decorating when Hoseok had excitedly screamed that the two boys were pulling into the driveway. Everyone inside the house quickly ran to hide and Hoseok screeched, running to turn the lights off before falling on top of Yoongi behind the couch.
"Surprise!" they all yelled as the two members walked into the house. Namjoon had the biggest smile on his face, he couldn't believe his friends had put this much effort into something for him. He didn't suspect a thing all day, so it was a nice pleasant surprise. A very excited Hoseok ushered Namjoon to sit with them all on the couch, excited to see Namjoon open presents. Namjoon took a minute while he was sitting down, to look at all the decorations that were hung around the large living space. Jin smiled happily to him, handing Namjoon the gift that he had gotten Emily to pick up for him. Namjoon smiled widely toward Jin, opening the box to reveal a beautiful set of throwing knives. Emily was shocked to see the product that she picked up from the small book store, but she was too intrigued and excited by the boy's happiness to question it. She realized wasn't upset at all, but she figured she didn't have a right to be anyway. There was still so much that she had to learn about the seven boys and the mafia.
