Chapter 81-Alora

*You arrive at the hospital and tell the nurse at the front desk who you are. He shows you to the room where Baby A is*

Lizzie has fallen asleep in her chair, with Baby A's hand still gripping her finger.

You walk into the pediatrics room and see several families sitting with their babies. You then see Lizzie and a smile instantly spreads across your face.

You see a Doctor that you don't recognize go over to Lizzie and Baby A and start checking her chart. You walk over to him.

Dr. Williams: Ah Y/N! I'm Dr. Williams, head of pediatric surgery. Glad to meet you!
Elizabeth and Dr. Rantisha speak very highly of you.

Y/N: Well it's great to meet you too! Thank you for taking such good care of Baby A.

Dr. Williams: That's my job. Thank you for finding her!
He smiles

Y/N: So I don't know if this is a rare occurrence exactly and I don't know if Lizzie has already talked to you about it, but we want to adopt Baby A.

He smiles wider

Dr. Williams: Well she hasn't specifically said it, but I could tell how attached she was to little Baby A.

*He points to Lizzie asleep still holding Baby A's hand*

You softly giggle

Y/N: Pretty obvious I guess.

Dr. Williams: Yup.

He laughs too

Dr. Williams: Do you have any experience in this area? Do you know the steps you have to take for adoption?

Y/N: Well I've looked into it a bit. I went and got the papers that we need for our application before I came here.

Dr. Williams: Good. And I don't believe they have identified Baby A's birth parents, so she would just be put into the foster system if you didn't adopt her. Let me know if you need a reference. You've got mine!

Y/N: Thank you!

Intercom: Dr. Williams to O.R 2.

Dr. Williams: I have to go now. I'll have one of my residents continue her checks.

*He rushes off and you sit down next to Lizzie.*

Lizzie: You know who she looks like?

You almost jump at the sounds of her voice because you didn't realize she had woken up

Y/N: Well hello sleepy head. Who does she look like?

Lizzie smiles at you

Lizzie: Alora.

You blush thinking of how she remembered this name that you had told her so long ago.

Y/N: I think you're right. Hey and then she really would be Baby A!

You both laugh

You lean your head on her shoulder and stare down at the baby, as her eyes slowly flutter open.

Y/N: Wow. And she really does have your eyes.

Lizzie laughs

Lizzie: It's too early to tell. Her eyes will probably look different as she gets older.

Y/N: Don't ruin this for me. I predicted it. Dark hair, your eyes, she's perfect. It's meant to be.

Lizzie laughs harder and turns to you with her captivating smile.

Lizzie: Okay, I give up. You're right.

Y/N: Yeah, I am.

You quickly peck her cheek and look back down at the incubator.

Lizzie: Hi Alora! Welcome to the family!

Y/N: Your mom's are so proud of you! You did so good in surgery and you are gonna get all better so we can take you home.

Lizzie squeezes your hand

Lizzie: You said mom's! Wow we're parents.

Dr. Rantisha: Just over there.

*You turn around to see Dr. Rantisha leading four middle aged people and a teenage girl and boy over to where you are sitting*

Your heart drops when you realize what is happening.
