Chapter 36-The answer

Lizzie: ... Please, please tell me you'll be my girlfriend again! This last month has made me realize that I can't live without you.

Y/N: Lizzie....

*You and Lizzie are standing in the middle of the airport, people rushing back and forth to restaurants, bathrooms, and to catch their planes, but everything feels like it is moving in slow motion. You stare at Lizzie, thinking about everything she has just said and everything she said on the night she broke up with you. Lizzie looks back at you, searching your face for any clue as to what you are thinking.*

Y/N:....I honestly don't know what to say.

Lizzie keeps looking at you, she starts chewing on her lip as she is thinking.

Lizzie: What can I do?
Her voice cracks.

You can tell she is holding back her tears as best she can but a few are still rolling down her cheeks. Instinctively, you each reach up and brush one of her tears away with your right thumb, you rest your hand there, cupping her cheek. You look deep into her eyes, seeing that she is in just as much pain as you. You know exactly how that pain feels and you don't want her to have to feel it.

Y/N: Ok.

Lizzie blinks and shakes her head as if she thinks she miss heard you.

Lizzie: What did you say?

Y/N: I said ok. I'll be your girlfriend again.

Lizzie can't hold back her tears anymore, they start running down her face, but yours do to.

Keeping your hand on her cheek, you lean in and kiss her. As soon as your lips brush against hers, you feel the rush of electricity. It feels like the first time you ever kissed her, all over again. However, at the same time, it feels so natural, like coming hone. How much you have missed her hits you and you pull her closer, kissing her more passionately.

Reluctantly, you pull apart. You notice all of the people who have been watching you, including your teammates, coach, and Jered, but don't care.

Lizzie: I love you.

Y/N: I love you too.

Your friends clap, holler, and whistle at you.
You and Lizzie giggle and kiss again.
Lizzie takes your hand and you walk over to your teammates. Jared is standing near them as well.

Clara: So everything is okay?

You and Lizzie both blush

Y/N: Yeah it's pretty good in fact.

Lizzie kisses your cheek.

Jared: Hey, nice to meet you. Sorry if I caused a problem. Lizzie and I are seriously just good friends!

Y/N: It's okay. I know that now. Nice to meet you too.
You shake his hand.

You hear this over the speakers in the airport
"This this the first boarding call for Flight 291 to San Francisco, currently boarding at gate D11."

Coach M: You two coming with us?

Lizzie: Yeah, we had tickets on this flight already cuz I was planning to come and talk to Y/N and Jared was coming with me cuz his parents live in Marin.

Y/N: Great! Hey Jared do you mind switching seats with me? If you don't mind, Emilia.

Emilia: Of course not! I'm cool with sitting with Jared.

Jared: Yeah, I don't mind switching.

*A little while later you all board the plane. You and Lizzie sit together and a few rows in front of you are Jared, Emilia, and the rest of the team.*
