Chapter 30-Adjusting

*It is a few days later. You have gone through orientation, met with your cross country coach(you have already met before but you had a meeting with the team to talk about the season), and gotten to know the campus better. Today is your first day of classes.*

Your first class is at 9. You get up around 7 because you wanted to be all ready and have a productive morning(for once). You get ready and do your makeup, organize the dorm a bit, and then go to the dining hall and grab breakfast. You go back to the dorm to get what you need for class. When you get there your realize El is still asleep(it is now 8:45).

You go over to El and shake her shoulder.

Y/N: El I'm going to class. See ya later.

El keeps her eyes closed by she lets out a series of incoherent grunts that you take as a goodbye.

Y/N: When is your first class? Do you want me to wake you up when I get back?

El: Sure, just let me sleep right now.

You laugh

Y/N: Okay bye. I'll be back around 10.

You walk to to your class and sit down, you are a few minutes early and the professor isn't there yet, but there are a few other students there. You sit next to a tall skinny guy with messy blonde hair and glasses.

Y/N: This is freshman composition writing, right?

Cody: I hope so cuz otherwise I'm in the wrong classroom. I'm Cody by the way.

Y/N: Nice to meet you, I'm Y/N.

You awkwardly shake hands. Then the professor enters.

Professor Lang: Hello everyone I'm professor Lang and this is Freshman Composition Writing, if you are in the wrong class I suggest you leave now.
A boy in the back quickly gets up and leaves the room.

Professor Lang: There's always at least one.
The class laughs.

Professor Lang: I know a lot of you probably don't have any idea what to expect as this is most of your first college class. But don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. Now, I hope you all have had time to pick up your textbooks, or have a digital copy available. I would recommend getting that ready now. We are going to just start off with some notes and a little overview of what we will be doing this quarter.

*Class gets out a few minutes earlier than you expected and you and Cody go and get a coffee at one of the stands. You check your phone and realize it is now 10:07.*

Y/N: Oh shit! I'm supposed to wake up my roommate. I got to go but it was nice meeting you! See you in class on Wednesday.

Cody: K, see ya.

You rush back to the dorm and get there around 10:15.

You shake El awake.

Y/N: Hey El sorry I'm a bit late, it's 10:15.

El: It's okay, but since I now I have to rush to get ready, I require the rest of your coffee.

Y/N: Of course.
You laugh and hand her the coffee.

You have a break now so you start your writing assignment(it's pretty unlike you to start an assignment this early, but it's a fairly easy assignment so you do it while you are watching some Grey's Anatomy).

*Later you go to a math class and then get back to your dorm and El is back too. You go and grab lunch and decide to eat outside in the courtyard. El leave and goes to class but you still have another 25 minutes before you have to go. Your phone starts ringing and you pick it up.*
