I woke up and saw yet another text from Marcus. He invited me for morning coffee again. Isabelle was still asleep. I kissed her on the cheek and softly whispered.

Y/N: "Gotta go,Izzy. Love you."

*The Roost

I scanned the cafe. Marcus was sitting at the same table from yesterday. Except he looked different,he looked... lovestruck. I couldn't help but smile as I pulled a seat out and sat down. Marcus was still daydreaming. I snapped my fingers.

Y/N: "Hello? Earth to Marcus."

He snapped out of it.

Marcus: "Oh,hey,Y/N."

Y/N: "So,how'd it go last night?"

Marcus: "It went great..."

Y/N: "So... are you ready to go talk to her?"

His face started turning red.

Marcus: "Uh... that's a negative. Not quite ready for that yet."

Y/N: "She's right there!"

Marcus: "I'm just nervous,you know?"

Y/N: "Ugh,fine."

I walked over to Rosie.

Rosie: "Morning,Y/N."

Y/N: "Morning,Rosie. How'd it go with Marcus last night?"

Rosie: "It went really well. Marcus is an interesting guy. And he's nice."

Y/N: "That's nice to hear."

I drank my coffee.

Rosie: "Let me guess,he happens to be the friend asking."

Y/N: "Mm-hmm."

Rosie: "Though he seems kinda shy."

Y/N: "Well,not really. He seems quite comfortable around Isabelle and I. Maybe just shy around a special someone."

She blushed.

Rosie: "Yeah... maybe."

Y/N: "You like him?"

Rosie: "Well,yeah. He's actually... purrfect."

Y/N: "How about I arrange a date for you two?"

Rosie: "Oooh,that would actually be pretty good. Though I don't think Marcus would come. Not by will,at least."

Y/N: "I guess you're right."

Again,I had that eerie feeling. Like someone was straight up staring. Chills went down my spine as I felt goosebumps popping up.

Rosie: "Y/N? Are you ok?"

Y/N: "Yeah."

Rosie: "I should get going now,I've got places to be."

Y/N: "Alright,see ya."

She paid Brewster and left. I turned to him.

Y/N: "200 Bells,right?"

Brewster: "Actually,Rosie just paid for your coffee."

Y/N: "What? What about hers then?"

Brewster: "Oh,she paid for that one when it arrived."

Y/N: 'Woman of her word.'

Y/N: "Alright,thanks."

I sat with Marcus again.

Y/N: "Ok,how long am I gonna do this for?"

No reply.

Y/N: 'Great,he's spaced out again.'

I snapped my fingers.

Y/N: "You there,Marcus?"

Marcus: "I feel like I've got Queen Alexandra's Birdwings in my stomach."

Y/N: 'Uh...'

Y/N: "Alright,I'm heading home."

*Y/N & Isabelle's home

I walked in,Isabelle had just finished a mug of coffee. She looked... more tired than usual. She yawned.

Y/N: "Didn't sleep well?"

Isabelle: "Mm-hmm."

Y/N: "Come here."

I opened my arms up and she hugged me. I kissed her on the forehead.

Y/N: "There,there. You sleep,I'll finish the weekend work."

Isabelle: "Alright. Love you,Y/N."

She mumbled. I chuckled a little.

Y/N: "Love you too,Izzy."
