I sat in his arms,waiting for work as I drank my coffee.

Y/N: "Need a refill?"

Isabelle: "Nah,I'm good."

Y/N: "You know,back when I used to work in the city,waiting was so much more boring. "

He looked down at me.

Y/N: "But now that I have you with me,I could wait an eternity."

He kissed me on the cheek.

Isabelle: "You're so sweet!"

After a while,we made our way to Resident Services.

Y/N: 'In a little bit,I'm gonna have to order some crickets online for Tina,my new pet tarantula.'

Isabelle moved her chair to sit next to me. She held my hand.

Y/N: 'But that's something I'll worry about later. Tina is well fed.

After a while,as expected,no one else ever walked in. Isabelle started talking about her family.

Isabelle: "So,my twin brother Digby and I grew up in a cardboard box. As a kid,we used to fight because I wanted to eat his shoes. It was hilarious!"

We laughed.

Y/N: "It was probably really cute as well."

Her face suddenly turned a little red.

Isabelle: "To be honest,I'm still a teensy bit tempted to eat his new ones. Now,he works at The Happy Home Designer. He loves his job and FaceTimes me whenever he can."

I smiled.

Y/N: "That's nice."

Isabelle: "What about your family?"

Y/N: "Oh..."

Isabelle: "What's wrong? You can tell me. It'll make you feel better."

Y/N: "I doubt it wouldn't telling you."

She smiled.

Y/N: "My dad left when I was 9 because we were in deeply in debt. Our family didn't have much money. My mom had to work really hard every single day working multiple jobs to afford school and slowly pay off the debt. Her hard work wasn't in vain,though. I got a college degree at 16. I graduated and started looking for a job. Then,my mom got diagnosed with cancer. I was still looking for a job back then,so I couldn't afford her surgery. By the time I got one,it was already too late. Her condition worsened and passed away 2 weeks later. At the end of the month,I had my first paycheck,but I didn't have my mom anymore. Now,I'm mayor of Bellsworth. I always give money to charity because I knew how much it could help. No one was there to help me. No one deserved the pain I went through. I hated my dad."

I felt a year leave my eye.

Isabelle: "Oh... I'm so sorry. What about your siblings?"

Y/N: "I was an only child. I didn't have any other family members."

She held my hand closer to her. Her eyes were watering. She forced a smile.

Isabelle: "Well,now you have me."

I wiped my tears away.

Y/N: "My adorable girlfriend."

We shared a quick kiss.

Isabelle: "Love you."

Y/N: "Love you too."

I was still thinking about what Y/N said. He had a harsh childhood.

Y/N: "We do have time to watch a movie."

I cleared my thoughts.

Isabelle: "Your pick."

He chuckled.

Y/N: "Ok."

We watched Love And Monsters. I sat in his arms as we both watched in excitement.

The movie ended.

Isabelle: "Can you imagine us in a world like that?"

Y/N: "I would do the same for you. But I probably wouldn't survive very long."

We laughed.

Isabelle: "I love you,Y/N."

I rested my head on his shoulder. He rested his on mine.

Y/N: "I love you too,Isabelle. Good night."

He kissed me on the cheek.

Isabelle: "Good night."
