Blessing in Disguise

The Set Up

**Lauren's POV**
Since returning to Hogwarts after Christmas break things had been absolutely crazy despite no longer having to follow the Ministry's timeline for marriages and children.
  As soon as we got back, Ginny and I had scheduled quidditch practice 3 days of the week and had an unofficial non mandatory practice on Saturday evenings for anyone to come and train with us.
  We only had a few weeks left before the Quidditch Cup Final and Ginny and I wanted to make sure the team never looked better.
  This would be our last time playing in a house match and we both not only wanted to win for our house but we wanted to prove we could train a team and make them look good too.

When Gin and I weren't training for the final quidditch match, we were with the rest of our friends preparing for the N. E. W. T. S which lead to little time spent with Charlie.
When Charlie and Bill weren't teaching classes, they would usually come to the library and sit with us and try and help us study. Although 9 out of 10 when all the Weasley brothers we're together not much studying was accomplished by any of us and we'd end up ditching our study materials to go sit down by the black lake and goof off or go to Hogsmade and grab a butter beer.

Today was Friday, and it wasn't just my favorite day because it's Charlie and I's day to eat dinner alone but it also meant the weekend was finally here and while we still had to carve out some study time most of the weekend would be spent catching up with friends.
This weekend though was extra special because McGonagall was letting the older students venture off Hogwarts ground where ever we wanted so of course we had all decided that we'd go crash Mr. and Mrs. Weasley at the Burrow.
  I was already dreaming about the delicious food that Mrs. Weasley was going to be cooking up for us. I must have been day dreaming a bit to long though as a pillow suddenly landed on my face, momentarily stunning me into confusion.
  "Cat got your tongue love?" I heard Charlie say, a hint of laughter and sarcasm dripping in his voice.
Again all I could do was sit there opening and closing my mouth without words coming out because I was once again caught off guard by not only the pillow hitting me in the face, but Charlie standing in front of my shirtless.
"Earth to Lauren" I could hear Charlie saying while waving his hand in front of my face.
"CHARLIE WEASLEY you can't just throw a pillow in face to get my attention and then stand in front of me shirtless looking like... looking like... THAT!" I shouted back at him waving my hands around like a crazy women.
"Oh well in that case I guess I shouldn't hesitate doing this then."
  Before I could respond he captured his lips with mine, cupping his hands lightly on my face.
I immediately melted into the kiss, my stomach erupting into a million little butterflies. Something that always happened when ever Charlie looked at me never mind kissed me.
All to soon though we broke apart. A small pout gracing my lips. "I'm sorry my love but I really need to get going."
"What! Why? I though we were going to spend the day together before going over to the Burrow for dinner."
"I'm sorry Laur, but McGonagall has asked me to help her plan some end of terms activities and she asked me to meet her this morning."
I could tell he felt bad telling me this but that didn't stop me from pouting a little more to try and guilt him into backing out of his promise to McGonagall. Of course he didn't give into the puppy dog eyes.
"I promise my love, that I will do everything I can to speed through my duties so we can spend some of the day just the two of us."
"Fine but I'm still made at you for leaving me today" I whined like a baby.
"I promise I'll make it up to you love" he planted a kiss on my forehead before turning around to finish getting ready.

**Charlies POV**
I hated lying to her. I really did but I had been planning this for ages now and I couldn't let her catch on. Turns out I was doing a better job lying to her than I thought because she never once gave any indication that she didn't believe me.
"I'll come find you as soon as I've finished with McGonagall I promise" I told her before giving her one last kiss and heading for the door.
As soon as I left our room I took off towards my office so I could use the floo to head home to the Burrow to put plan "Make Lauren my wife" into action.
