Books surrounded us, stacked in towering piles as we scoured through them, each of us flipping through pages with focused determination, hoping to find anything on the ring.
"Here it is." I pointed to an illustration, and there it was—an exact image of Stella's ring.
"Well, share the 4-1-1, girl." Musa urged, leaning closer, her expression eager.
"Alright, here's what I know so far," I began, reading from the text. "The ring is incredibly powerful because it was crafted directly from starlight, the purest source of magic in the universe." My voice lowered, the weight of the words sinking in. "But what's even more fascinating is that some say the ring holds a unique essence, made from the same starlight that created the legendary creatures known as the 'Great Dragons.'"
"Did you know about this, [Name], Stella?" Bloom asked, tilting her head in curiosity.
"Yeah!" Stella and I nodded, confirming her suspicions. Stella added, "I've always known about the starlight part, but this whole dragon thing makes me think I should have the ring reappraised."
"Could this be why the witches wanted it?" Bloom pondered aloud, her gaze fixed on the book. "Maybe it holds a hidden power they're after."
"That's possible." I mulled over her words before offering my own conclusion. "The witches are always greedy for power, so it wouldn't be surprising if they're drawn to something like that."
Stella frowned, her worry showing. "I'm not shocked either, but honestly? I don't think my ring's that special. I mean, why would my parents give me something so powerful if it could endanger me?"
"Exactly." I sighed, feeling the confusion settle in again. None of it made sense.
"In that case, we'd better get it back, just in case," Flora pointed out, her expression thoughtful, concerned about the potential power the ring might hold.
"We have to get it back anyway!" Stella whined, wrapping her arms around me for comfort. "I feel so useless without it."
"True to that." Musa's eyes sparkled with amusement as she teased, "In magical defense class, she got beat by a keekbug."
Stella pouted, looking indignant. "I was just... distracted."
We chuckled, the moment of light-heartedness soothing our nerves. But our smiles faded, and a seriousness returned as the weight of the book's warnings lingered.
"When we tried to look up more about the Great Dragons, all we could find was this restricted book that only showed a short paragraph," I explained, remembering our earlier frustration. "It said, 'Although there is no proof, it's rumored the Great Dragons maintained balance across the entire Magical Dimension.'"
