I wiped the sweat from my forehead as we stood in Miss Faragonda's office, the air thick with tension. We'd managed to fend off the creatures, but I knew it was only a temporary victory. They would return soon, and I dreaded the thought. After all, we weren't prepared for what was coming.

"I'm afraid that our little victory won't last long, girls," Miss Faragonda said, her voice heavy with worry. Her brow was furrowed, and the stress etched into her face was unmistakable. I couldn't blame her—the school was under attack, and we were fighting not only for our lives but for the future of everyone at Alfea. The uncertainty of it all weighed heavily on us. "Red Fountain is going to draw in the next wave of attacks, but it's only a diversion."

I pursed my lips, now deeply concerned for my Specialist friends. "Are they going to be okay?"

Faragonda sighed, and her answer did little to ease the fear settling in my chest. "We can only hope so, [Name]." She exhaled deeply, her shoulders slumping slightly. "Once Red Fountain falls, they'll turn their attention back to us, but Alfea girls never give up, no matter how slim the hope. [Name], Bloom... you hold the key to all of our hopes."

Bloom and I exchanged looks, confusion flickering across both our faces before we turned back to Miss Faragonda. "...We do?"

"If one candle is used to light another, the fire passes on, but the original flame still glows," Miss Faragonda explained cryptically. Her words slowly began to sink in. "You see, they can take the fire from you, but they can't take your ability to burn, Bloom." With a flick of her wrist, she cast a spell, and a hologram of Domino appeared before us. The familiar blue sky, the flowing rivers—everything that once was.

"You're the Princess of Domino, which means you're the only one who can use the flame to its full potential."

"But the Witches have the flame now," Flora pointed out, her voice tinged with confusion. I shared the same sentiment. Miss Faragonda had a way of talking in riddles, and right now, I wasn't sure how this was going to help.

"Not all of it," Miss Faragonda corrected, her tone firm, and to our surprise, the hologram shifted to reveal a darker image. It showed a place covered in ice and snow, the stark contrast of the frozen wasteland sending a chill through me. "In its day, Domino and Aalto were the greatest evolved planets. The Dragon Flame and the Water Dragon were the sources of life. But then, the Water Dragon disappeared, and the flame soon extinguished. It was cast into eternal winter."

The image shifted again, showing a vision of Aalto's destruction. The beautiful planet, now nothing more than ruins.

I felt my fists clench involuntarily, my nails digging into my palms as a new emotion surged through me. It was a grief I couldn't fully place, but it was there, thick and suffocating, like a weight on my chest.
