One Mistake is all it Took

Answers.

It feels like Christmas.
My heart is beating.
My mind is racing.
I slip my finger under the tape and listen as it rips the paper open with every sudden movements of my fingers.
I'm anxious now.
The paper slightly unfolds as the grasp of the tape is broken and I unfold the paper to realize there is only about half a page of writing... So how bad could it actually be with barely any writing?
Before I read it my mind races.
Why would she write me a letter?
She could come see me.
Why didn't she come see me yet?
Why aren't they here all the time?

I finally calm my mind and start reading the letter. It says;
Mia.
There is some stuff that is hard to say. Especially to family.. I love you.. But that's not what this letter is about. The hospital told me that you were pregnant.. And when I found out, I lost it. My baby girl is pregnant and she is only 16. They said the boy who knocked you up, was a boy who claimed he just met you. They didn't tell him about the pregnancy yet.
So back to my point.
Your father and I talked about it and decided that you can either have an abortion and still live under our roof, with our rules and restrictions... Or have the baby and be on the streets. It's your choice. We are not dealing with a baby. Not happening. I expected more from you Mia Marie. I really did.

I'm pretty sure my heart just beat right out of my chest. I've barely even though about this baby thing. I feel a tear spring to my eyes and another and another followed by many more.. I'm angry but I'm sad.
