~ Y/N POV ~
Once I told one of the adults that she was in charge, I walked to the pub, viola case still in hand. Once I got there, I was met with a man in a green hoodie wearing an unsettling smile mask. Beneath the mask, I could see some blonde hair sticking out but nothing more.
"I asked for the chief, who are you?" He asked when I walked over to him at the bar.
I sat down gracefully, a little off put by his remark. "I am the chief, and who might you be?"
He seemed taken aback for a moment before recovering, "I am King Dream, I come from a nearby kingdom. You're on the border of two very dangerous kingdoms, and I came to warn you. Of course, if you would like I could station guards nearby. However, that would take manpower and I'd need some form of repayment. Say...food for protection? I'd say it's a fair deal."
The entire time he was talking, I sized him up. The sleeves of his sweatshirt hugged his arms and gave away some muscles. He also seemed to have fairly decent legs, but if given time to prepared I could take him on and win thanks to my agility. Only if I had time to prepare, otherwise I would be screwed.
"So, what do you think? Will you take the deal?" I noticed he was holding his hand out to mine, expecting me to shake it.
"No." I answered, before the doors flew open again. In walked the most intriguing person I'd ever seen, weirder than the guy next to me. He had long, pink hair that he had tied back. On his face, he wore a pig's skull to cover most of his face, however that didn't block his defined jaw from my view. He wore a white poet's shirt with black slacks and a pair of combat boots and had a sword attached to the hip.
"Hey foreigners, hate to break it to you but this isn't a masquerade." I sighed, ready for the day to be over.
The man next to me—Dream—glared at the newcomer, making me certain that they knew each other.
The pink-haired man looked at me, then back to Dream before sighing and sitting on the other side of me.
"He's annoying, isn't he? Name's Technoblade." He held his hand out for me to shake, and I took it.
Giving a curt smile, I introduced myself. "Name's Y/N, and I'm the chief of this village. If I may ask, are you here for the same reason as Mr. Dream here? And are you guys from the same place?
Techno looked at Dream in disappointment. "Kind of and kind of, we live in two different kingdoms and this guy's honestly kinda trash. Imagine not feeding your civilians."
Dream quickly defended himself. "Actually that's a lie don't listen to him, we're set for winter. It'll be close but we'll make it."
"Mmhm sureeeeeee." Techno raised his eyebrow at the shorter.
I just gave a small nod, before asking "so then, I know why he's here. Why are you?"
"Kind of the same reasons? Honestly, I was just curious about what was in this forest. Apologizes for intruding...and Dream, if you're to discuss this you need an audience." Techno said, looking Dream directly in the eyes with a challenging glare.
I looked at both of them, noticing the rivalry between them, and sighed. "Fine, whatever makes you happy. Arrange whatever bullshit you need to and I'll attend."
When those words left my mouth, I saw Techno get up and walk to the door. "Go ahead." He said. Worried, I went over to the door just in time to see someone shoot into the sky.
I was concerned to say the least, but didn't see any harm done to the village. Plus, no one seemed to notice the person who had just taken off. I looked at Techno with a confused glance, and he briefly explained.
"Oh, I'm not a king. Since King Phil has wings, it's easier for him to get places. He was waiting for me to give the go ahead to make plans. He'll be back later...hey that's cool." He said, kneeling down to look at the belt I was wearing.
It was a rather simple design; a full moon with two arrows crossed over it in the design of an X. It was meant to signify the Goddess Artemis. I taught myself how to use a bow and arrow, and to say I was a natural was an understatement. The people around the village said I was blessed by the goddess, but I don't know about that...
I was snapped out of my thoughts when he reached out to touch the belt. Instead, I took it off and handed it to him so he could take a closer look.
"Artemis, why Artemis?"
I smiled. "Well, they say she blessed me with her archery skills."
Techno nodded, clearly impressed, before Dream cleared his throat.
"Sorry if I'm interrupting, but the sun is setting. Would you mind if I stayed in a room?" He said, interrupting our conversation.
"I mean, you'll have to ask the barkeeper. I'm sure he'll let you rent a room as long as you have money on you."
