Wow a different type of title? Strange... yes it was intentional I was getting bored that's all HFKSJFSK.
Also time skip because I can't really do much at that point in the story and this is a bit of a uh....long chapter. Apologies <33
~ Y/N's POV ~
I stretched, it was another day in the castle. It's been about 3 months since I sided with King Phil's kingdom, and I couldn't help but think about all that's happened since then.
Well, my villagefolk all got jobs after the proper education was given to them and they're now self sustaining, no longer needing the King's money for food, water, and other necessities. As for the children, the kids in older ages had to get specially educated so they could catch up to their proper classes, and fit right in. The younger children already had the education required for their grades and slowly started blending in, accepting this new life.
Sapnap, the man who stabbed me at the hearing, was released once my wounds were healed and escorted to the border. Although he had hurt me quite a bit, I would go down to the dungeon and talk to him sometimes. Once you got past his hard exterior, he was actually really funny. Never thought I would befriend someone who tried killing me.
As for Techno, he had been pretty busy as of late as there were troops he needed to turn his attention to. However, when he wasn't busy we would hang out, even spar sometimes. I've almost beat him, and I got to show him just how good my archery skills were. Needless to say, he was quite surprised when I was able to shoot a pebble falling from the sky. He showed me the rock and it had a small dent on it from where the arrow slightly pierced the surface of the rock.
What else....oh yes, I was serving the current King as an advisor during any important meetings. I would always be placed on his right with Techno on his left, and even at this distance we could tease each other just by looking at the other, earning some amused glances from the King.
I got dressed, thinking of what's happened over the last few months, and walked to the dining hall. Before I could get there, I was met with Ranboo teleporting in front of me, causing me to jump back.
"Wh-" I began.
"No time." He grabbed my shoulder and teleported me to the private meeting room where I was met with two groups of people nervously chatting amongst themselves.
In the first group were people from King Phil's kingdom; Princes Techno, Wilbur, and Tommy, Techno glaring daggers into the other group.
The second group contained a few faces I remembered all too well; King Dream and his advisors Sapnap, George, BadBoyHalo, and Antfrost. While befriending Sapnap, he told me their names and descriptions of each of them.
I went over to Techno and his brothers, catching Dream glare at me and choosing to ignore it, before setting my hand on Techno's shoulder.
"Try to relax a bit and tell me what's happening." I stared up into his eyes, and it was clear that he held a grudge against Dream's team but especially Sapnap, and understandably so.
"Well, these five arrived at the steps this morning and requested a meeting with Phil without an audience. Can you believe this? It hasn't even been a year and they're trying again, but I won't let them hurt you this time." He responded, glaring over at Dream and hugging me tightly to his chest.
I rolled my eyes, patting his arm, before replying. "You're overreacting, we don't even know what their motives are yet. For a start, they wouldn't start a war in person; that's just too risky. Trying again would also be too risky, so try to relax and keep an open mind."
Just as I said those final words, King Phil burst into the room, commanding everyone to sit. Once everyone walked over to the table, taking their respective seats, I could sense an uncomfortable tension in the air and looked at King Phil with concern, only to be met with a small nod.
"So," he began, "what would you like? Last time you were here, you did something illegal, punishable by death. With that, I apologize for my lack of patience today." Phil said, sending an empty smile at the other side of the table where the other kingdom sat.
Dream took a deep breath, standing up. "First off, I wanted to sincerely apologize. What I did was awful and, as you said, highly illegal. I encouraged my men to attempt to assassinate advisor Y/N, and that was wrong of me. Whatever price you ask of me to repay, I will accept." He bowed to the King, who was shocked at the apology.
"You're softer than I remember, Dream." He responded, pushing down his shock.
"Yes, well, desperate times call for desperate measures." He smiled, and it was then that I noticed his exhaustion. He had bags under his eyes, covered with makeup to make it less noticeable, but it was still there. His smile also seemed weak, more pitiful if anything, like he was trying to smile at something so fucked up although it wasn't funny.
Realizing King Phil likely hadn't noticed it, I drew his attention by tapping my chair a few times. He granted permission for me to speak with him, so I stood up and tip-toed so my mouth was next to his ear.
"He's tired; exhaustion is written all over his face. I believe this is a serious matter that must be met with caution, and clearly his choice of words suggests that they're here to receive help."
He listened carefully, nodding when I was done so I could take a seat.
Dream looked at me with a dangerous-looking smirk. "Hey hun, remember me?"
I could hear Techno stiffen up on the other side of Phil, before the King shushed Techno. I just looked around the room, unphased, before noticing how the light reflected off the ground.
Just before King Phil could say anything, I replied, "Huh, the floor here is brighter than you, King Dream." looking Dream right in the eyes and saying King with a mocking tone.
His face fell, and he looked embarrassed. Tommy started laughing so hard he fell out of his chair, while Will was trying his best to hold back his, failing miserably. Techno also let out a small chuckle along with King Phil; even Dream's advisors were laughing and making fun of him.
"King Phil, I apologize for speaking out of turn." I said, trying not to laugh.
"Apology accepted, that was a treat." He replied, a smile still on his face.
Once everyone caught their breath, Dream cleared his throat.
"Sorry advisor, now back to business. We have a serious food shortage that is...well...worse than we expected to be honest. And the approaching winter is putting more stress on everyone in the kingdom. I stress that chaos will break out if we don't receive aid." He looked down, solemn. While his advisors seemed stoic, it was easy to see through. The one pointed out to me as George was particularly bad at hiding his worry for the kingdom.
King Phil sighed, "Ranboo?" He teleported into the room. "Can you get everyone breakfast? Just something simple like pancakes will do. This should not be discussed over empty stomachs." I hid my disgust, assuming I could deal with it already knowing full well I probably wouldn't eat it.
Ranboo nodded, before going over to where Techno was waving at him and whispered in his ear. Ranboo simply nodded before teleporting away.
"Now," King Phil continued, "let us separate and talk among ourselves.
