Other Kingdom (Cpt. 21)

~ Y/N's POV ~

I walked through the city, Dream and his guys behind me, with my head held high. I could feel everyone's eyes on us as we passed, though I knew they weren't directed at me. Despite this, I still didn't like the attentions.

When we got to the gate, I was greeted by Techno, Will, about eight carts of countless food items (all being driven by farmers Techno trusted), Ranboo, and a lady with pink hair. I made sure to introduce myself and discovered that her name was Niki before we were seen off by Wilbur. He waved from the gate, yelling "come back safely!" as we went.

Techno moved to a protective stance on my left, trying to put distance between me and his enemies. I didn't even say a word; I just grabbed his hand and squeezed it so he knew I would be fine. In my days in the castle, I had been receiving combat training from him so I would be fine.

We were all a bit grouped up with who we knew. Dream and his team were whispering amongst themselves behind us, Niki and Ranboo were talking to each other, and obviously me and Techno were walking together. Behind everyone, the carts were being driven.

I was glad it was midday when we left, and clearly Techno was too. We would be about 10 miles from Dream's gate at sunset, which meant we would have to sleep on the road but we would have a short journey in the morning. When we did have to settle, Techno insisted on keeping watch so our enemies couldn't flee.

"Techno, why would they run? We're providing their people with food, they'd have to be pretty stupid." I said, trying to convince him.

However, Techno is one of the most stubborn people I know. I lost the argument and shrugged, deciding I was too tired to deal with this shit right now. As soon as I hit the blanket, which was on the bare path, I fell asleep.

Next thing I knew, I was being shaken awake by Techno. I groaned, burying myself deeper into the blanket.

"Cmon darling, we have to go. I'll make sure you sleep once we get there." Techno's voice was soothing, but it would take more than that to stir me from my slumber. I flipped him off, hoping he would let me sleep in. Instead, I felt myself getting picked up and placed on his back.

"Fine, just take a nap on my back. But when we get closer to the gates I'm waking you up." I smiled, softly thanking him, before slipping back into sleep.

I eventually woke up myself, as we didn't seem to be close to any gates. Before alerting anyone that I was awake, I listened into other people's conversations. I felt bad about it, but I was curious.

"You have a soft spot for her, huh Techno?" Sapnap teased. I immediately felt Techno tense and tapped his shoulder twice, letting him know that I was awake. He let go of my legs, making me fall, but I was prepared. My legs were already braced for landing and it was rather majestic.

I ran to the side of Techno where Sapnap was, holding Tech's hand. "Yo Techno, look at this pleb here." I said, rolling my eyes.

Dream butted into the conversation. "That "pleb" almost killed you not too long ago. Remember?" Techno flinched, and I could tell it bothered him. I rubbed slow circles on his knuckles with my thumb, turning back to Dream and smiling in as friendly a manner as I could.

"Mention that again, and I'll take your right eye. Got it?" I said, in a rather cool manner and taking out a pocket knife I had in my pocket. Sapnap kneeled over in laughter while Dream started wheezing. I couldn't help but laugh.

"YO, is someone making tea?" I said between laughs. Even Techno let out a snort at my joke, which was rather gratifying.

"Just make sure it's chamomile tea, and I'll love ya forever. Thanks my cute little wife." I said, finishing the joke as everyone erupted into laughter. And to think these guys had once tried killing me! Happy memories, you know?

~ Timeskip ~

When we got to the city, food following behind, everyone stared. For good reason too; apparently Techno was the talk of the cities, and Dream and his colleagues never went to the outskirts of his kingdom. If he did, it was never for long. I could just feel the eyes on us as we walked, and I was reminded of the first time to King Phil's castle.

"Speaking of, I wonder how Phil and Tommy are doing..." I thought looking at some of the people staring.

After a while, we got to the front of the castle, where King Dream ordered the carts around to the back. Techno looked hesitant to allow it, but he started walking around it, waving at the carts to follow.

I didn't realize it, but Niki and Ranboo appeared next to me. "Y/N, right? It's a pleasure to meet you Ms., I'm Niki." Her voice was so warm and comforting, also very quiet.

I turned to her and smiled, holding out my hand. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance." I noticed Dream and his team started walking inside, and George beckoned us to hurry.

I smiled at them one last time before we followed them inside, where we were met with another warm castle. There were guards everywhere, staring at the seven of us, which Dream dismissed with an annoyed tone.

As soon as they left, a man with red hair and a white sweater stepped out of a room and approached Ant. They hugged, and I saw the red-head give Ant a quick peck on his lips before turning back to what I assumed was the kitchen.

Niki, Ranboo, and I all awed at the interaction, causing Ant to laugh, then approach us.

"So uh, I'll show you guys your rooms if you'd like? We're having a formal dinner tonight; and yes we have fancy clothing prepared in your rooms." He said, giving us a warm smile.

Just then, Techno came into the building through the front door, glaring at Ant once he realized we were talking. He approached me, moving me to stand behind him while I tried holding back a giggle.

"Relax, you big baby, I can save myself." I said, rubbing his shoulder, moving to stand in front of him with his chest against my back. He put his arms around my shoulders in a defensive way, and I just sighed.
