At a young age, I found it perplexing that I managed to find a map along the lost and found items from my middle school.

People may only look at the map as a common thing that people lose, but not the 14-year-old me, who thought that it was fate's work; of all people, I had to be the one who found it. That was the time when my parents were fresh from a horrible divorce, when we were evicted from our house that we couldn't afford anymore, and when Papa, who has custody of me, was trying to make ends meet to the point that he even took three jobs just to get us by.

It was the time when I realized that life wasn't figured out easily. As people, we may have illustrated every destination that there is in our lives, but it is possible that we might not know what really is waiting for us.

Much like a map in a lost and found box; it listed every location in town and how to get there, yet there it was, lost and without an owner.

Just like my heart, which wanted to fall in love, but with everything that happened to me and my family, I don't think it is possible.
