For my outfit, since Brad told me to go for an outfit that's right in the middle of casual and semi-formal, I decided to go for a simple white eyelet dress, a navy blue cardigan, and the heels I wore to the wedding, since it was the only pair of shoes that was decent enough for the occasion.

Brad, on the other hand, styled his hair a little so it won't be too unruly, and his outfit was composed of a white turtleneck sweater tucked in some black and white patterned pants, finishing it with his combat boots that managed to make him at least two inches taller, but still smaller than me since my shoes made me four inches taller.

Upon realizing that the element of surprise of the date will be broken because Brad and I live in the same room, Brad got ready first so he can go ahead and prepare everything else, then I got ready on my own. After about half an hour of taming my hair before I thought that it was good enough, I texted Brad and said that I was ready, then he knocked on the door.

"You look beautiful," Brad said, then I smiled as he gave me his signature, sincere smile, handing me a red rose as he did so.

"Thank you. You look handsome, as well," I told him, then I sniffed the flower a little to remember its scent before it faded away.

"I asked permission from your dad, by the way. He said that it was fine, but I have to give him a picture of you during the date and once it's over."

"Both or just one?"

"Just Mr. Wellington. I don't know how to approach or how to contact your Papa," Brad said, then I gave him my consent. He led me out of the door and made sure that it was locked before we made our way to the parking area.

"So, where are we going?" I asked Brad, who held my hand as he led me to the car, where he opened the passenger's door for me.

"If I say that it's a surprise, will it be a cliché?"

"Maybe. But you have to know that your date hates surprises, and maybe making the date venue a surprise isn't going to be ideal," I said as I climbed in, then Brad shrugged.

"Eh. You'll love this one," Brad said before closing the door, which made me chuckle to myself as I put my seatbelt on, putting the rose on the dashboard as Brad walked around the car to get in the driver's side.

"I thought I was supposed to lecture you on how to host a good date so you won't get scared of girls again," I told Brad, who chuckled as we put our seatbelts on, then he looked at me.

"You did, though. You told me not to make the date a surprise when my date doesn't want it to be a surprise."

"So, you're not going to apply that concept now?"

"Well, technically, this is not a real date. It's a  practice date where a girl evaluates my dating abilities."

"In that case, I'm giving you a failing grade."
