📌 London, England, UK
"See? It wasn't so bad, was it?" I asked Brad as we got out, then he playfully rolled his eyes.
"It was awful, Cai. But, you're right to an extent-I don't regret going at all," Brad said, then I smiled.
"I'm glad. At least I'm assured that you will go again, maybe not in the near future, but, someday," I said, then Brad looked at his watch.
"Well, we're not going to make it in time to the hotel, so I suggest we go straight to the restaurant your brother was suggesting? I believe he already made reservations, so we could just go," Brad suggested. We made our way to the restaurant, scared that we were underdressed, considering that a valet was waiting for us when we arrived, and the restaurant's look was fancy as hell.
"I can't afford this, Cai. There's no way I'm going in there."
"Well, I can't exactly leave you alone to wander by yourself. You still have my suitcase."
"True. Maybe I should drop it off at the hotel?" Brad asked me, then to our surprise, his stomach grumbled.
"You have to eat first."
"I'm not exactly going to be able to eat anything in that restaurant now, though. Everything is surely out of my budget."
"I'll just get Oslo to pay for you. Even if it's just a piece of bread, please?" I tried to convince Brad, but he didn't budge.
"He probably only wants to see you. I'll be fine, Cai. He can just drop you off at the hotel or something."
"But I want you here. And, I want to pay for you as a thank you for keeping me safe in our trip. Driving everyday for hours is not as easy as it sounds, Brad. The least I can do is be grateful," I said, then Brad sighed before removing his seatbelt.
"Fine. But only because I'm allowing you to be grateful and because you're about to go tomorrow. Nothing more than that, alright?"
"Not even the part where you can take advantage of this time to annoy me as much as you can before I never see you again?"
Brad laughed before climbing out of the car, then I followed after him. After giving the keys to the valet, we were led to Oslo's table, which had more people than we were expecting.
So that was why he was nervous. It was enough to shift my mood from excited to infuriated.
"What are they doing here?" The first words that came out of my mouth were venomous, and even Oslo didn't know how to react. Papa stood up from his seat and pleaded to me, the tired look on his eyes intensifying even more as Vi sat on her seat in silence.
"Please don't make a scene, Cairo. It was my idea. This was the only way we could explain our side. You didn't give us much choices," Papa said, then I took a deep breath to calm myself down.
