When morning came, Brad was already drying his hair, then I sat up on my bed, which caused him to turn to me.

"Good morning," Brad said after turning the hair dryer off, then I gave him a sleepy smile.

"Good morning. How did you sleep?" I asked after realizing that, after my nightmare scare, we shared the same bed for the night so he can easily calm me down if I get a nightmare again.

Thank God that didn't happen.

"Fine. The bed was a bit too small for us, but it was a good thing that we're both steady sleepers, so, yeah, it was alright. What about you?"

"Well, I didn't wake up again from a nightmare, so, that should be a good sign. Thank you for that," I said as I got up, then I made my bed before going to the bathroom to get ready for the day. When I was fully clothed, everything was already packed, except for my things, so I went ahead and packed before we went down to the car, where we were met with an unpleasant surprise.

"How the fuck—" Brad asked as he investigated the back wheels of his car, which were both flattened.

"I only have one spare tire. That won't be enough to keep us going."

"Maybe we can call a tow truck to help us bring it to an auto shop? Then we'll figure things out from there," I said, then Brad nodded his head. I did all the calling with his phone as he asked the bed and breakfast staff if they could look at their cameras to see who the culprits were.

When the tow truck arrived, Brad and I were taken to an auto shop to get his car fixed, but since they had a lot to fix that day, we could only get the car back later in the day.

"Is this some kind of business ploy because we're a little short on money and we have somewhere to go to. Plus, it wasn't our fault that random teenagers decided to pop the tires for no reason," I said, then the man shook his head.

"Look, I'm sorry, but there are only two of us in this shop. Usually, it would take us only thirty minutes, but your car is literally the sixth one we have to work on today. If it makes you feel better, though, you can avail one of our rental cars with a discount," he said, then I sighed as I looked at Brad, who frowned.

"We'll just go to our destination on foot. What's the worst that can happen?"

"That you break your keyboard and you'd have no other means to get money," I said, then Brad's eyes widened.

"Sometimes you're a bit too blunt, but you're right. We can't just leave my instruments lying about."

"You know what? I'll pay for everything. I still have some credit left on my card, anyway, and seeing as this was an emergency none of us saw coming, it's worth the money. No need to pay me back, okay?" I told Brad, who sighed.
