Chapter 5: Old and New Habits

After waiting for a while everyone finally joined the call and we started to go over what everyone would be doing. It was going to be my job to distract Sam, so we joined a separate vc and started to practice a few different ways of interacting. We finally decided he wouldn't believe me at first but would eventually start to feel bad and walk me home.

Once we got that sorted out, we needed to practice the fight scene that would happen once Dream escaped. I also needed a reason to go back to the prison, so it was decided that Sam would get an alert telling him something was off and I would run after him. That would put me in the perfect position for Dream to take me and run.

After working out the fight scene, I had to practice how I would teleport with Karl in the end. Karl and I ultimately decided to just record the ending. We practiced the ending a few times. How we ultimately decided to do it was as soon as Karl ran between me and Dream, I would switch to the prerecorded video and Callahan would put Karl and I into spectator mode so we would disappear on everyone else's stream. Then after the video stopped, I would end stream and raid Wilbur, who would continue the story with the others.

It finally came time to stream and things were working out perfectly. Sam and I's interaction had gone to plan, although Technoblade accidently blew himself up while breaking into the prison so we had to pause for a few minutes while he walked back. Sam and I then ran to the prison just in time for our grand finally. As Dream started to approach me, Karl ran out of nowhere and we seemingly teleported to the inbetween. I had Wilbur's stream pulled up, and the transition looked flawless. I made a mental note to congratulate Callahan on that later. And just as planned, I watched as Karl and I's prerecorded dialog play and ended, raiding Wilbur.

The chat was completely freaking out and almost the entirety of the Twitter trending page was filled with different references from the stream. I tweeted a quick message about how well Callahan did with the transition knowing it would make chat freak out even more.

I was right because five minutes later he was also trending.

As soon as everyone's streams ended we all rejoined the original call and proceeded to celebrate. Although it was short lived as we all left to watch Sapnap's lore stream.

I tried to watch it but quickly zoned out. It didn't really matter though because I already knew what was going to happen.

I started thinking about the meet up. Ever since I was asked to go I've been debating whether or not to just cancel. On one hand I wouldn't have to worry about eating, I wouldn't ruin the trip for anyone else and It's not like anyone actually wanted me to come. But on the other, my mom would be suspicious considering how excited I was when I asked and I do want to at least see Tubbo and Wilbur.

Although my thoughts were scattered, the second George appeared in Sapnap's stream.

"What do you want? I'm trying to sleep." He said annoyed. I rolled my eyes and laughed. I never really understood why George built his whole character around sleeping. I mean how boring would that be? Although I guess George is quite boring.

I went back to watching Sapnap's stream and decided to join in the celebratory voice call as soon as he ended. But again something caught my attention.

Tubbo and Karl were in another private VC. Weird. But I shrugged it off and just decided to go back to talking to Wilbur about how cool Callahan's transition looked. And soon enough Karl and Tubbo joined.

"Your guy's streams looked so cool!" Tubbo shouted as soon as he entered.

"Thanks Tubbo." I said. I knew he was probably just saying that to be nice. I doubted he even watched the streams at all. He probably only joined Wilbur and I's VC because his new best friend Karl did.
