I don't think I've ever been more confused, but flattered in my entire life. At my last school, I had one friend. No one talked to me, the teachers never asked me to answer a question for them. I had great grades, and I was smart. That's all I had going for me. But in Beacon Hills? It seems like a whole new world.
From the moment I stepped into my new chemistry classroom, I knew this year would be different. The stares I got from my classmates sealed the deal on that one. It made me nervous.
And of course, to top it all off, the dean just had to give me a grand introduction. I tried not to look up at anyone. I was already shaking. I knew everyone was watching me. They act like they've never seen a new girl before.
But being introduced wasn't even the weirdest part of my day. I sat down behind a boy. Pretty good looking, if you ask me. His hair was dark brown and messy, his eyes like chocolate. He wore a plaid flannel and man did he put the cologne on heavy. Not that it smelt bad. It smelt good. Like, Armani good. He's got to be a ladies man.
But when he turned around with a pen in his hand, and nearly punched me in the nose, I knew this one was more clumsy than flirtatious. He had nice hands, though.
"I-uh-pen-" His face got red, and I almost wanted to laugh. He looked like a lost puppy.
Instead of laughing, I just smiled at him and took the pen. "Thanks."
He'd nodded his head and spun back around in his desk with his head hanging in his hands. There was someone laughing next to him. My guess is his friend. He had short hair, and a very uneven jawline. It actually made him more attractive. These guys seem pretty cool.

The bell rung, signaling the end of class. I gathered my things and got up to hand "pen boy" his pen back, but him and his friend bolted out of class. Strange. I assume he doesn't need it back, then.
As I walked out of the room, the first thing I noticed was how many students there were. The halls were lined with kids from all grades. It was a bit overwhelming. For such a small town, there sure are a lot of people.
It took me a minute to find my locker, but when I finally made it, it was like a weight had been lifted. I had entered my combination, put my books away and turned around to leave, but something caught my attention. Across the hall was the pen boy from earlier, and his friend. His friend was talking to a strawberry blonde, but pen boy was looking directly at me. I was a bit shocked at first, and I looked both ways to make sure it was me he was staring at. I gave him a smile, hoping it looked friendly enough for him to come over here, or vice versa.
