"𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞."
a story in which scott was never the love allison was looking for.
stiles was.
Lydia was seated at the other end of the room because apparently the teacher saw me cheating off her paper or whatever.
Obviously, she was blind.
Scott laughed at me as I walked out of the classroom, clearly pissed off. "Dude, you completely wrecked yourself in there. I'm surprised she didn't give you detention."
"Yeah yeah, haha, so funny I forgot to laugh, Scott." I rolled my eyes. "I mean, cmon, what kind of teacher remembers that shit? 'You cheated off Ms. Martin last time', yeah right!"
Lydia strolled up next to us. "This is why I offer you my notes."
I scoffed. "Yeah, well, your notes need notes. Math is literally a different language and is made up. Seriously, when am I ever gonna use the Pythagorean Theorem?"
"Actually," Allison stood next to Lydia, and my heart rate snot up. "The Pythagorean Theorem is useful for measuring the shortest distance between two angles. For instance, the angle from the school to your house to the veterinarian's clinic. Is it a shorter distance from your house to school, your house to the clinic, or the clinic to the school? It's easy math, you just have to put it into real life situations to make it easier." She smiled a genuine smile, proud of herself.
My mouth dropped. I just got floored by the hot new girl.
And I am not mad about it.
Lydia smirked. "Yeah, we're keeping her around."
Allison laughed. "Math and French are my strongest subjects. It's pretty easy once you know what you're doing."
"We'll," Scott slaps a hand on my back, "Stiles hasn't gotten the gist of anything since freshman year so I think he's lucked out on that one."
I scoffed. "Hey! Rude! I believe I saved your ass more than once, remember? Jackson was about to-"
"Don't!" Lydia's shrill voice spoke. "Don't say his name."
Allison looked to Lydia with a comforting expression. "Bad breakup?"
"Uh..yeah," she gave a tight smile. "Something like that."
The bell rang, signaling the start of 7th, our final, period. Scott and I both had Econ with coach, Lydia had literature, but I wasn't so sure about Allison.
"Alright, well," Lydia cleared her throat. "Allison, meet me outside in the courtyard after school."
Her eyebrows furrowed. "Why?"
Lydia rolled her eyes. "The party, remember?"
Allison looked even more confused. "The party starts at 3 in the afternoon?"
"No, silly! It starts at 9 tonight. You're coming to my house to get ready. It'll be a great chance for us to get to know each other better."
Allison smiled. "Sounds good. I just need to make sure my dad's okay with it."
Scott and I walked away after that. Their conversation continued, but we couldn't waste anymore time congregating in the hallways. Coach would have out ass, especially since we're barely passing.
"Ready for Saturday's game? They're letting Isaac back on the field. Might help the team out." Scott shrugged.
"Oh, god. Don't remind me. The last time they let him on the field, he almost ripped someone's throat out."
"Yeah but he's gotten a lot better since then. And you know how much he's helped us out. He's changed, Stiles. Trust me."
I let out a sigh. Of course I trusted Scott, but after everything Isaac did to our group...I can forgive but I can't forget. Although, I'm still trying to forgive. "Let's just get through tonight. We still have Boyd and Erica to deal with. Plus with Allison being the new girl in town, and an alpha pack coming in...I'm not so sure I trust anyone other than you and Lydia."
"Boyd is under control. It's the alpha's I'm worried about."
I nodded and stopped outside the classroom door. "We can take them."
Scott smiled and raised an eyebrow. "We?"
"What, you don't think me and my trusty bat can handle a few alpha's?"
"You humor me, Stiles." He laughed.
"Oh-fuck you, Scott." ----
