----------The place we were supposed to stay in for the night gave me serious chill bumps. The wood around the outside was rotting, the sign was broken and the lights flickered continuously.
The inside was even worse. I'm pretty sure I saw two roaches run across the floor as soon as we stepped inside. The smell could knock out a bear, it was putrid and sour, and the walls looked like they were decaying. I wouldn't be surprised if the beds had lice.
Lydia, Scott, Stiles and I were the last to enter the lobby, and of course Lydia was immediately disgusted. Whatever had her freaked earlier was clearly shoved to the back of her mind. "Don't they have hotel keepers or something? I feel like I'm walking through a nasty, dirty barn." She shuddered.
"Keep your voice down. The workers might here you!" I said in a hushed whisper.
"So let them! This place is nasty, I can't stay here."
"And where are you gonna stay? The bus? The road? Lydia, it's just for tonight. We're leaving early in the morning."
She crossed her arms and gave a defeated sigh. "Fine. But if I get a strange disease after this, I'm blaming you." She marched her way to the front desk, and we all slowly followed her.
"Oh! Hello there," the old woman at the desk spoke. She had a wry smile and she smelt like baby powder. Behind her, a calendar, a clock and a countdown of numbers hung on the wall. "What can I do for you folks tonight?"
Lydia gave her a tight smile. "Hi, we'd like four rooms please."
"Oh my, I'm afraid we can't spare that many rooms. We have a limited capacity here. But I can give you two rooms!"
"Great, fine, whatever. As long as there's two beds."
The woman handed Lydia a key with the number 13 on it. "Two beds, a shower and a closet. Enjoy your stay!"
Lydia snatched the key and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, thanks. Scott, you're coming with me. If anyone breaks into the room, you're the one I want fighting them off."
Scott raises a brow. "You have a wild imagination, you know that?"
Lydia winks. "I know."
