Letters to Anonymous | MYG [Completed]

1. Curiosity!

Yoongi's POV:

We were waiting to board our flight back to Seoul. I hate this waiting period, especially with so many people around! It's just 30 minutes but still, it feels like hours upon hours. While people in the VIP lounge were trying to give us our space and not bother us but I could see a flock of people waiting for us outside the gates. It will be all hell break loose once we were out of there. Somehow, I can never get ready for a swarm of people. I know that it's their adoration for us but sometimes even this excessive love feels like a cage. 

As always I was trying to brace myself with a tall cup of Caffè Americano. This was the third one since morning. A craving for caffeine driven by a sleepless night in the studio and that unease at the airport. Everyone else was busy with their phones, while I was just looking around, observing people who were staring at us. I guess others are used to these stares now.

Namjoon is sitting right besides me. Usually he would be seen lost in some book at such occassions, but not today, even he was busy with his phone. Must be checking his twitter feeds, I thought.

I was about to rest my head on the couch to take a nap when Jimin peeks from behind us, moving his head between mine and Namjoon's.

"What's that Hyung?" He curiously asks Namjoon

"What?" A cold reply was returned

"That app. It looks like you are writing some long essay. Are you writing some article?"

"Nah", another cold one

"Then, what is it that you are writing? You have been at it since we got into the car this morning.", Jimin investigates. He's now sitting in front of us with a very curious look on his face.

Namjoon finally puts the phone down, looks up at Jimin.

"It's an app with which you can write letters to people"

"Who writes letters nowadays! And whom are you writing to Hyung?" He surely is curious, and oblivious to Namjoon's disinterest in fulfilling his curiosity.

"To random strangers. App matches you with random user and you can write them letter. And if they want they can write you back."

"Sounds boring" After that explanation Jimin had lost interest.

I had not. While I was not sure why Namjoon would want to write letters to unknown people but that thought of someone unknown writing back to me did sound intriguing. So alike Jimin, I decided to probe further.

"Why do you want to write letters to unknown people?" I asked Namjoon.

"Well, first of all, this app has a very old school vibes which I like. You just write to someone unknown, wait for your letter to get delivered, sometimes for hours or days. And there's this anticipation of not knowing if someone would reply back. I like that!"

Joon has always been into such stuff.

He continues after a pause, "And I also get to know different perspectives from different people. I sometimes feel that we are living in a bubble and we don't know how people are living out there. There are so many people with so many interesting stories. They give me inspiration in writing my songs too."

"Interesting girls, you mean?" Jimin buds in, seems he is again interested in the conversation.

"No dude. These are random people. They can be of any gender, age or location!", Joon explains

"So you mean, it can be a 65 year old grandpa on the other end?"

"Yes!"

Jimin raises his eyebrows and goes back to his seat.

"And I suppose you sent this letter anonymously, right? Or don't tell me that you have some alternate virtual identity!"

"Hyung! Of course, I choose to be anonymous. See, you can choose to share selective information about yourself. You can choose to be completely anonymous as well. "

"And what do you write to these people or what do people write to you?"

"There are people from all over the globe on this app. So my topics usually revolve around their culture, their traditions, their history, and especially their art! Sometimes we also share each other's life experiences. I usually, refrain from sharing anything which my reveal about my identity. But I do get to know about a lot of very interesting life experiences of  people who live lives so different from ours. It's really an enriching experience Hyung!"

"Okay, now you have got me curious!"

"Hey Hyung, let's go board the plane." We hear Jungkook and so we abruptly stop our conversation there and start moving towards boarding.

" Can you share the link to the app, I'll try too!" 

"Sure Hyung" He nods while he takes the seat.
