Randal couldn't convince a judge for a court date before the holidays, so they had to wait till the first week of the new year to start the fight against Elle and Heather Williams. While waiting for the court date, Victoria had to get virtual therapy sessions because she was too scared to leave the house and needed to talk to someone who could calm her down. She still felt so bad about this after all, and didn't feel like she was worth the trouble that everyone was going through.

"You look like nice." Mariska smiled, when she went to check on her daughter. Victoria sat at the vanity and finished braiding her hair.

"I wish I wasn't dressing up for court." Victoria mumbled.

"I know, but it's happening and there is nothing we can do about it." Mariska replied. She walked over and sat on the bed. She watched as her daughter finished up before Victoria joined her on the bed.

"So what is going to happen?" Victoria asked.

"Probably not a lot today. These things can last for years. There can be a lot of discussions, but a lot of them we won't have to attend. We can still live our lives until Heather and Elle realize they will not be getting anything from us."

"I'm sorry that I can't help to pay them off, Mama... you and Dad work hard for your money, and they just want to take it away."

"Stop apologizing, Tori. Daddy and I are just thankful we have you, and you don't have to watch this fight from their side. Now, go put your shoes on. The sitter is here to watch the kids, and we need to head out."

"Can I just fake being sick?" Victoria sighed.

"Just like I told your father, we all have to be there. No calling the mediator and telling them that we all got sick. So get going, Hermann." Mariska spoke, before kissing her daughter's temple and heading out of the room.

They arrived at the courthouse and Randal lead them to the large conference room that they would be working in. The Hermanns occupied one side of the table, and the Williams had the other. Elle and Heather kept trying to get Victoria's attention, but Victoria didn't give in.

Victoria ended up so focused on her hands and her breathing that she didn't even pay attention to anything until her name was spoken. She quickly lifted her eyes before finding Randal staring at her.

"I-i'm sorry. What did you say?" She breathed.

"Did the Williams give you permission to contact your biological parents?" Randal asked, and Victoria nodded.

"Yes, they did. On my birthday, they gave me my adoption folder. They even helped me to locate Mariska and Peter when I was ready. They helped me the whole time." Victoria replied.

"I believe, that through several forms of concrete proof, that Victoria, Mariska, and Peter Hermann didn't breach the closed adoption. They handed over the adoption file, and they even helped Victoria locate her parents." Randal spoke as he looked at the judge and the mediator.

"I agree with Mr. Manson. For the adoption to have been breached, the Hermanns would have had to interfere before Victoria even approached them. That part of the suit will be dropped. Now, we have been here for several hours. I'd like to take a break for lunch, and we can come back soon." The judge spoke before he walked out.

Everyone stood and left slowly. Victoria went to the bathroom to wash her face and hands, and when she looked up, Heather was standing behind her. Victoria grabbed a paper towel before patting her face dry.

"The sink is all yours." Victoria spoke before she turned and walked to the door. She went to open it, but Heather stopped her.

"I cannot believe that you are hurting us more. The divorce and the fighting weren't enough for you?" Heather spoke softly. Victoria sighed before shaking her head.

"Heather, I'm not supposed to be talking to you. I would like it if you remove your hand from the door so I can go back to my parents."

"You three deserve each other." Heather spat as she kept her hand against the door. Victoria turned slowly before eyeing her.

"We deserve each other? What the hell are you spitting out now?" Victoria sighed.

"You all are so selfish... and incredibly greedy. Don't you think that doing this to us was just a cherry on top of this shitty cake? Not only did we lose our daughter, but you have to make us suffer in court too." Heather huffed.

"We aren't suing you. You decided to sue us... and for your information, Mrs. Williams... you wouldn't have lost me if you hadn't been such a freak. If you didn't force me away from the only people who actually loved me... which is something that you and Elle could never do. They are my parents. They have bonded with me, and they have loved me for my whole life. I really think you didn't love me from the start. Now, remove your hand from the door before I call my lawyer. You can't forcibly hold me here."

Randal found out about what Victoria told him. He was quick to tell the Judge, and he told him that Heather had been harassing her in the bathroom and refused to let her leave. So the judge ended court for the day, and Victoria was no longer needed there every day. She would be called in when needed, but otherwise she wasn't going to be forced to see Heather and Elle every day for god knows how long.

"Did she hurt you?" Peter asked as he and his wife looked at their daughter's arms and made sure she wasn't bleeding anywhere.

"Dad! Mama! She didn't touch me! She just bitched at me and made me feel uncomfortable!" Victoria exclaimed, as she shoved her parents away since they were getting annoyed.

"Are you sure? She could have left bruises under your clothes. I have seen it before-" Mariska started, but Victoria stopped her.

"This is Olivia Benson coming out, Mama. She didn't hurt me, and I would tell you if she did. But she wants us to pay. She's angry that the breach of adoption got dropped. She is angry that her settlement may be lower just because of that. She called us greedy and selfish, but I guess she hasn't looked in the mirror. She hasn't seen that she's being greedy and selfish herself."
