Dressing code.
How should a muslim dressing code be?
We all know, but ignorance is destroying us.
Islam is a simple religion but we tend to make it look complicated. We muslims are the role models but what is happening we copy what our friends from other religions do. The reason being, we are moving with the trend.
The same 'trend' will cost you a lot on the day of judgement. I am not saying I am perfect, I know the feeling you get when you are the odd one out in a group of friends especially us ladies when you cover up.
Think this, I am pleasing my God, I am doing this to please Allah only because He is my creator. I do not want to please people. Trust me, you'll not see the reason to expose your body. The way we dress may lead to what people call zinaa(adultery). It is a common thing now and people see it as if it is not a sin. How are we going to face Allah?
Change.
It is not too late.
Islam teaches us the following on dressing code:
For the women in general modesty calls for a woman to cover her body, especially her chest area.
The holy Quran (al-ahzaab 33:59)
Allah says,
'O prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks(veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known as( free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is ever oft Forgiving Most Merciful.
On the other hand, for the men, Quran 24:31 obliges men to observe modesty.
"Say to the believing men that they should restrain their eyes and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Surely Allah is well aware of what they do."
If you are going against what Allah says on modesty, my friend, it's never too late.
Let us all change, change for the better.
